Get rid of the ability for peeps to alt F4 and .ef when they are highly damaged and want to avoid getting shot down or blown up in their tank. Make it so if someone just .ef the nearest enemy gets the kill or whoever has given them the most damage. THIS ALT+F4 AND .EF is a bunch of B.S. and just ruins this sim. You ditch your a/c without damage should count as a kill, same goes for tracks. Maybe set a new category, 'ditches without damage' that way we will all know who they are.

AFAIK they have it set up that alt-f4 will award a kill to the person that caused the most damage same as if they were killed. If ya don't get me before I ditch in friendly territory sorry but I won. Fight to the finish. My understanding that ditching near or in enemy controlled area does count as a capture=death.

Hi skippy,

have to admit that i did the.ef command in last Africa scenario when i was in a panzer.
Maingun was diabled, couldn't turn the turret anymore + engine gone.
Tried the bail command which work in planes-
but nothing happens. so i tipped .ef.
Is there a different command for "Ausbooten" when in vehicle ?

Not in vehicles. My take is you ride the ship down!

In other words, wait for the enemy to finish you off. That is the honorable way.

Be careful here.

Think about this; how does a tanker successfully exit? I mean, let's say that you do a great run, everything goes perfectly, and now it is time to rtb. You are now looking at a 45 minute drive back to base. Even a B17 can do it much quicker than this.

Right now tanking is a one-way trip from the start. Your only hope for a successful exit is if the base you are nearby is taken.

A better compromise is to award an attacker with your kill if you have damage and .ef off base. Asking people to die just so someone can score a kill is silly IMHO. If my tank was disabled and I saw more enemies coming I would be out of that target soooooo fast....

Before folks go screaming he Alt+F4'd consider the fact they didnt. I have had the displeasure of getting disco'd at least once a session with my new (soon to be ex)ISP @home. Usually it happens away from anyone while cruising to a fight, occasionally it happens in the middle of one. So before you go yelling ALT+F4 remember the medium we are playing in. It pisses me off as much to have it happen to me as it does when I'm on the other end. just $.02

If they implement an Ambush like command then they could make it possible to return to base no penalty if you are hidden.
This would be largly imposible during direct attack but in a lull you could do it..

If you bail out under attack then your troop should appear and have to live for a miniute or two to get a bail.. else its like a splat when parachuting.

Ok:
Yes, you should be forced to bail from damaged panzers, and kills should be awarded.
Remote spawn points should have a small shed or just a square on the ground that allows a vehicle to RTB there.
Frankly, I don't consider it cheating if someone .efs from a busted tank. It's just irrational to yell "You didn't sit there, immobile and without ammo and wait for for me to blow you up."

Of course, every problem would be solved if, both with planes and tanks, ditches with damage = kill.

Hi all

I don't drive tanks much at all... but if my tank is immobile I am not going to sit around waiting to be killed - imagine a tank being disabled by a lone plane which then crashed, are you to sit and wait for him to return which could be ages? Should be able to bail with kill awarded or whatever. It really depends on your viewpoints... if you're interested in getting kills then yeah, I understand some people being annoyed at not getting 'their' kill, but if you've disabled a tank (which then went .ef) then you've helped your country in stopping an attack.

The easiest option is to give a bail option with kill awarded.

Remove the hit noises. Thats when most of the alt f4 happens. most damage go,s unnoticed until its so bad you have to ditch. Or boom your in the tower.

True be true.... not all disappearing planes are alt-f4's , i'd say the vast majority of the time its just a disco by isp, but i've run into more an more planes/players that dis when 6'd and I don't mean just one time ...they dis and reappear 5 mins later attacking the same base or hunting the same area, i've got a couple of names already an plan to do what I did in another online sim, create the 'Hall of Shame' with the call signs of the certified offenders. Since it's not too hard to determine who they are. After word gets around like in rogue they were shunned by all. Plus it will give me some practice with flash 4.0 ! soon as bus. slows down.

Add my name to that list (Hall of Shame). I am not waiting in my tank to be destroyed when I have no means to fight back, and I don't care who knows it. I will jump out of (enter enter enter) a plane that is disabled, likewise a tank (.ef).

If the powers that be code for a bail to be a kill in both tanks and aircraft that is fine by me, in fact I would like that. If you wish to vilify anyone for this issue, I am more than happy to be the poster boy.

I do agree though, Alt-F4's used to be a problem, though there is code that awards a kill when someone pulls this stunt.

How about this : two tanks coming out of the vh , you are outside. You shoot one , he disappers ( as in leaves ), line up on the other , the first one's back . They did this over and over again tonight , till they had enough in me to brew up up . Lost my cool for a bit over that one . Was at base 28 .

Plus seen the strangest thing . Red icon that said G.S. , ufo keep flying into and out of the ground . Lots of others seen it too . Same base .

Hmmm I have to disagree guys.

I had a 4 kill sortie AFTER my turret was knocked out. I sat there & managed to shoot down 4 planes with my MG. Eventually someone EARNED his kill.

.ef on runway or spawn point, fine. Otherwise if you .ef with damage give the guy who hurt you the kill.

Actually you should have to "Bail" if your not on spawn point or runway. (disable .ef just like planes)

The "G-S" thing has been covered in the Bugs Forum, check "Flying Cube with Icon G.S.".

Yup I've bailed out of a tank when it is effectively dead. Not to avoid a death just co's It's boring. (So why do I sit parked in a C47 for ages waiting for a field to be cleared, Dunno, Think it's a goon thing).

Don't really care about the score (500+ in the rankings and proud of it)

Give the player the kill (You know it makes sense). It's the sight of our name in lights that's important not the statistics (Unless your a "scorepotato")
