This camp has been the worst ever for me. I bought a new system that came with this dreaded HSP modem thing. It's great for cruising the web, but it absolutely sucks for online gaming. I am 99% sure that it is the sole cause of my constant red screens. Check my score. More then half of the time I fly I get disco'd (i.e. die). When this happens I simply vanish. It doesn't matter if I am spinning wingless, triumphant and rtb, or just about to engage, I vanish. Sorry.
However, I have felt the anger flow when I am attacking a VH only to have someone come up to defend it and after taking a single ping he re-tanks, without giving up a kill. He then repeats this 6-7 times, until he finally hits me ONCE and I die. Now THAT really sucks. I think the 'damage done' counter should indicate this type of thing, and perhaps award a kill for every two or three tanks that ditch it. Oh, and I never saw this guys tank lean from a wounded track.
Yes, if my tank is defenseless I will re-tank without waiting to give up a kill, but I usually have further to drive.
Maybe when a tank ditches in your field area the host should report "Gronk forced Voss to surrender." Gawd, I'd hate that even more!
The best time I had in a tank was completely destroying an airfield, only to have the VH popup before I was finished. A panzer rolled in, so I drove into the BH and stayed there till the BH was dead, and then drove home at full speed. The panzer never hit me and I rtb'd with four a/c kills. Yes, that's right, I left the area and proceeded closer to friendly territory.
No reason to take it all the way home. The VH's are buggy and always report a ditch, but a capture is the same as a death.
