Got together for a mini-canonball through Sam Houston Nat'l Forest last Saturday.

It was a 'tard thing to do...and I'll be doing it again soon.

I felt sorry for them.  Mustang owners are lonely, introverted momma's boys.  So we let them hang out with us.

Need to build a garage for it, then it might become mine  :devil

Step-dad been promising it for years.

First stipulation was a house.

Now it's a garage, picky picky.   Sheesh, he's had it since he was 16.  You'd think he would share   :furious

Natural selection is a curious thing.  Remember that when the deer/dog/Kid runs out in front of your pretty little fiberglass made-for-small-weiner men mobile.

I just hope you're single with no attachments.  It's your life though....whatever.

I'm not gonna preach to you about it, but just make sure your prepared for the consequences of what can happen at those speeds, I did the same thing, drove over a 100mph through a forest area, 1 little thing went wrong and ended up losing control, now I'm in a wheelchair, I know no one thinks it's gonna happen to them, but I thought the same thing, so just be careful.

Wow, you got me Moregay, I never knew Camaros were made of...fiberglass.

Yes, there is a certain risk involved, but it's no greater than driving through an apartment parking lot where you can't see around parked cars and kids run out in front on you.  We chose this road for a reason.

How stupid is it to film all those cars front ends with their license plates being visible and then film yourself breaking the law.

Lemme see.... 110 mph on a two lane road through a forest with lots of animals and a car that sits less than 6 inches off the road.

Versus

Driving through a parking lot?

Call me whatever name you want... I don't care.  I'll just call you plain dumb.  Mitigating risk is one thing.... I've regularly been under 250 ft of water for research, and I'm still here.  Mitigating stupidity...(yours) impossible.  You have so little control of the situation you were in, it's amazing.  I won't look forward to the BBS posting for your memorial flight.  Wake up and act like a responsible adult.

OK........

on the surface, it would seem that these gus were being careless.
but think about this for a minute. from reading diablo's posts, he seems to generally have decent common sense. i disagree with him on a few things, but i think he's a bit smarter thanyou guys give him credit for.
if it were me, i'd have made multiple runs down that road, at lower speeds, to get the "feel" of it. i;m sure he did.
that in essence would've eliminated most risk, with the exception of an animal running out in front. coon, squrriell, and other small animals......well, no biggie. deer......if there's deer in that area. we have a few roads like that here in south jersey. never, in 28 years of driving in this area, have i seen any deer on those roads.

top that off with the fact, that 110mph isn't really THAT fast. think about it.....most of you are probably cruising the freeways around 80 to 90 mph. and THAT is much more dangerous, with all the zombies driving there. where he was, he had other skilled(hopefully) drivers sharing that stretch of road.

yea, it was against the law. big whoop. you guys are perfect?

sorry if i'm sounding abrasive, but i don't think that was that bad. now maybe closer to the speed potential of the vette they were in........

at least we know the stangs were waayyy out front.   :D

rant over...... :noid

And continue tell other people how to live their lives.  You're a fascist.  You even admit as such by taking deep dives "for research", by doing so you assume the risks associated with your activities.  Call it what you want, everything in life has a level of risk, I just prefer not to live in a completely safe bubble.  And to CAP, no I did not take a familiarization lap, I didn't need to, google earth is great for getting familiar with a road.  My tactic was to hang in the back with the "slower" cars, and not push too hard.  The funny thing was, we weren't even the fastest cars out there, much less the motorcycles out there.

So Moregay, continue on your rant about how other people should live their lives.  I sure as hell don't see anyone telling YOU how to live yours.
