LOL.. tell people how to live their lives?  I could care less how and when you kill yourself sir.  It's my wife future and or children coming the opposite direction that I'm worried about with idiots like you.  Sorry just won't cut it when you end up killing someone else, for your "lifestyle".  When I want to get up and go fast, there's a track about 35 minutes away that rents out time by the hour.  That way, there aren't any children or deer for me to worry about running out in front of me.  Also, if I screw up behind the wheel....it's my funeral, not some innocent person that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, on a fluffluffluffluff'n public road with driveways and homes.  As far as a "bubble".....hilarious how idiots like you portray yourself as stoically as you do.  Funny thing is, you know you were doing something stupid but you really won't admit it. My adrenaline fix is just fine thank you, without endangering your family on a Saturday afternoon.

As well, I'd be fully willing to bet that not a single one of you oafs that were out that Saturday have a single lick of first aid training, and not one of you had a real kit with you in any of those cars.  Also, for all your great driving, you're all packed up like sardines.... deer runs in front of the first car, you all get involved.

No sir, I'm not telling you how to live your life.  I'm asking you to be smart with someone else's potentially at risk.  The guy who did the same thing that you did (except they only estimate he was doing 85) and killed my uncle as he pulled out of his driveway 25 years ago on his way to work ( My niece was 4 years old and was in the front yard when it happened, she watched her Father die.) has been attempting to "apologize" to the family since the day it happened.  He was just out for a joyride too.

You're a complete toolbox if you think your stupidity is in any way defensible.

Wow Moregay, I really wish I was perfect, just like you.  Your assumptions and cliches are both tiring and unoriginal.  First aid training?  10 years in the Navy, first aid is a requirement.  Just because YOU find it disagreeable, and yet you still say you're not telling someone else how to live their live, you find it necessary to post a 3 paragraph reply.  If you don't care, shut the hell up.  I got hit by a drunk driver 2 years ago.  I had 2 family friends get killed by a drunk driver almost 30 years ago.  Did that stop you or me or anyone else in the world from drinking?  I guess not.

Go ahead and find ways to call me stupid or a toolbox, Moregay, and keep denying you're not telling me how to live...uh-huh.  Go ahead, I await with baited breath your holier than thou reply.

The main concern is not killing yourself but someone else.

Agreed, enjoy life any way you want but don't take the family in the mini-van with you.

At least you didn't do it on Thanksgiving week while most families did their traveling.

He's not telling you how to live, hes telling you that your chosen way of living endangers innocent passers by. Sadly it will probably take a catastrophy to make most people realise. Some of us are lucky and get a second chance let off with a warning, many dont.
What you're doing is the same as taking a rifle and shooting through your garden fence on the assumption that it's very unlikely to hit anyone in the other gardens it passes through.
But meh, driving fast is fun, and that looked like alot of fun. I'm not preaching, but you have to accept your bragging about wreckless driving in a gang of motor heads is not what some of us think a great idea. Del, we can 'give thanks' that everyone is still here to debate the subject :)

his uncle was killed by a joyrider, jesus, what more do you need to understand his viewpoint? You dont have to agree, but can't you cut a little slack and respectfully accept the critisism?

If it was presented in a respectful way, yes.  It just comes off preachy to me.  We've all known people who have died tragic deaths.  Hell, all 3 of my older brothers skydive or fly gliders and have all seen people die, didn't stop them from continuing on in their respective sport.

Mechanic, don't you guys drive on the wrong side of the road?

That seems pretty dangerous to me.

There is no way to present it respectfully, sir.  Your act is inherently disrespectful to others' safety... so you want someone to say it to YOU nicely?  Doing 110 mph on a two lane PUBLIC road puts innocent people at risk, and IS NOT your call to make.  The only thing I can honestly hope for is that an officer of the law sees you and you lose your driver's license, before you kill some innocent person cuz they happened to turn around and yell at their kids in the back seat for an instant, and they swerve over for a second.....

And safe?  There was one instant on that film, where you went over a blind hill at just under 100mph.... during the day on a Saturday.  That's just plain stupid, no matter how you slice it to make yourself feel "good".

There are places to do this sort of thing where innocents are not at risk for your inability to react to a situation that arises.  Travelling at that speed on a public thruway, you are not in control, no matter how much you feel otherwise.  There are too many other people around reacting to their own situations.

I believe this with my whole heart.... My experience with this matter is personal.   I honestly don't give two craps if you think it's preachy.  It's just not your right to endanger others.

It's a damn shame that ten years in the Navy didn't grow you the hell up.

Driving fast for a good time on a public road.... that's where innocent people, who didn't ask to risk their lives, end up maimed or dead.  If you don't see the difference, you're truly dense.

Moray, you're an idiot, plain and simple.  That wasn't ME in the video.  Someone else took it.  Like I stated earlier, I was in the back, one of the last 3 cars.  And again, with your attitude, there is no other agenda but your own and telling people right from wrong, in this post as well as others.  Keep preaching and using assumptions.  It's clear you only want to see and read what you want to see and read.  If you don't see your preaching, well, that's because you are you and we don't expect any different.  Your purpose to post like you do is like you said, personal, and that means forcing your view onto others whether it's welcome or not.  If this is a sensitive subject, you should just have not even posted in reply.  What happened to you or your family is a tragedy but don't even think for one second that I blindly drove that road, it says a lot about you that you assume so much yet know so little.  But that's no surprise.

Diablo, you don't have a leg to stand on in this argument.  You, yourself called it "a 'tard thing to do".  I agree with you whole-heartedly.  I also agree with Moray.  The bottom line is, don't have your fun at the expense of others.  What you did is no different than what happened in the very same part of Texas not too long ago with fools and high-powered rifles.  You probably remember, they were having some innocent target practice in their backyard without a proper way to stop the bullets.  One of the bullets hit a guy a good distance away and killed him.  They got arrested.  Serves them right.   Nothing wrong with rifles, just like there is nothing wrong with fast cars.  However, when you point a gun or a car that is on the verge of being out of control in someone else's direction, you're being a fool.  My wife, family and I drive those very roads and I would appreciate it if you wouldn't point your car in our direction.

Oh yeah, and the whole thing about "don't tell me how to live my life".  That has been around for a long time.  It's called the law.  It is put in place to protect the general public from people who need to be regulated because they can't regulate themselves.  Maybe we can't tell you what to do.  You are right about that.  (About the only thing you are right about in this whole thread).  However, I do have a little hope in my heart that a guy in a black and white car with colorful lights on top catches you and hands you over to someone who will regulate you.

P.S.  I almost deleted this whole thing b/c I thought to myself, "Ah, it doesn't make any difference anyway, why get into it?"  Then I looked back at your tone and language toward Moray calling him an idiot etc, etc, etc (and he may be in other threads - I really don't keep up with all of that and don't know how the community sees him - don't really care, however in this thread he is 100% correct).  So, I figured I'd go ahead and post it just to add one more post to tip the scales out of your favor and to plant myself firmly in Moray's corner.

I'm so glad this went there.  What is it to be impaired or intoxicated but to have diminished capacity?  Diminished capacity to react, reason or recognize danger.  Why is one form of diminished capacity demonized but others not?  What is the difference between a guy driving home from his office Christmas party after three drinks, a guy who just finished a twelve hour shift in a factory and an eighty year old man who has recently had a small stroke?  The difference is that the guy with arguably the least amount of diminished capacity, if pulled over, will go to jail while the other two will be told to be careful and have a nice day.  The only difference is that alcohol induced diminished capacity can be chemically measured and is a great source of revenue from the local police department to the judge's pension fund.

How far does individual freedom go?  It goes only so far as to not impede other's freedom.  Where in the constitution does it recognize, or where in any law does it grant each individual the right to safety on all public roads?  There was a time that when a person turned the key to an automobile that they accepted all hazards of the road - up to and including dangerous drivers.  If you do not accept those hazards, do not turn the key.

Oh yeah, Diablo you ARE an idiot.
