A few wishes.
« on: November 29, 2008, 12:53:07 PM »
Alright, I don't post my thoughts in here a lot, but I think I should mention a few things in here that are on my mind.

Ok, first off, USSR and Japanese planes are needed the most. There shouldn't be any argument regarding that. They were 2 of the main forces in WW2 and are poorly represented, especially the USSR.

So, my wishes for aircraft are as follows:

U.S.S.R Fighters:
Yak-1(b) : It saw service in the Great Patriotic War and saw front line use during the Defense of Leningrad and Moscow. Fills an enormous hole in the Early War plane set for the USSR.

Yak-7: Yak-1 development, saw action early in the war. Give it the RS-82 rockets and it might see use in the MA.

Yak-3: An absolute must. This aircraft saw action from 1944 right through the end of the war and then some. It would see heavy use in the MA.

Mig-3: Now, this didn't have the greatest armament, but it did see a good amount of service. If you give it the underwing UBZ guns it would be an "average" early war fighter. Also, give it the bomb and rocket options under the wing.

U.S.S.R Bombers:

Tu-2: Ok, now we could max out this thing with variants. I'll just list them.

Tu-2 - Initial version, saw service starting in 1942.

Tu-2S - Improved version with radial engines.

Tu-2DB - Long range bomber variant.

Tu-2Sh - Attack version.

Tu-2T - Torpedo bomber.

Pe-2: An absolute must, saw huge amounts of service. List of variants we could see:

Pe-2 - Initial production variant.

Pe-2B - Bomber version from 1944 onward.

Pe-2FT - This was the main production variant, could possibly see action in the MA as a ground attack aircraft.

Tu-8: Not a must, would be awesome to see though.

Ok, that rounds up my USSR wish list. Now time for my Japanese wishlist:

Japanese Fighters:

Ki-43: Fills an enormous gap in the Japanese plane set. Gives the Japanese an early war land based fighter.

Ki-44: Faster then the Ki-43, although not a pretty aircraft. Saw service for a good amount of the war.

A6M3 Model 32: Fills a somewhat small gap but is still important.

Japanese Bombers:

G4M "Betty": Gives Japanese an early war land based bomber. Saw considerable service throughout the war.

B6N: Late war Japanese carrier based bomber. Wouldn't see use in the MA but is valuable for Late war set-up's in the SEA.

Ki-48: Saw service and gives Japanese a late war Attacker/Bomber. Not needed like some other aircraft, but should see a mention on the list.

Ok, now that aircraft are out of the way. I have 3 wishes in the way of tanks.

M4 Sherman: Ok, it wasn't that good, but this gives the allies a somewhat decent tank that saw service from the middle of the war onward.

Comet: Gives the British a tank that is quite deadly and that is of complete British design.

Cromwell: Saw good amount of service. Deserves a spot in AH.

Other Wishes:

Give TG's variable layouts with percentage chances of getting each such as:

25% chance of getting a TG with 6 Destroyers.
15% chance of getting a TG with 4 Destroyers, 1 Cruiser and 1 CV.
25% chance of getting a TG of 5 Destroyers and 1 Cruiser.
35% chance of getting a TG of 3 Destroyers and a CV.

Thoughts?

I'd like to see the Comet in game, along with the M4. I think the M4 would be easy meat though, alone an M4 is an easy kill, numbers were why they were so effective. I'd like to see another Yak variant, along with a Russian bomber

The Yak-1, Yak-3, Ki-43, and Pe-2 are probably the top 4 I'd like to see.

The Cromwell and M4 together would be a good set-up for the North African Campaign.

Yak-1, Yak-7 and Yak-3 are pretty much needed, particularly the first two.  We should have a lineup of Yaks the same way we have lineups of Spitfires, 109s, 190s, F4Us, P-38s and P-47s.  A LaGG-3 would be nice to flesh out the Lachovkin series.

I would put the Pe-2, in two or three variants, as the single biggest gap filler in AH right now.

YOU FORGOT ITALIAN PLANES!!!! G.55, C.200, Cant Z 1007, Br.20.......

also i do like the task group idea but the 1 with the 3 destroyers why not make it 3 destroyers and 1 Coast Guard Cutter. they did participate in convoys during the war, they helped with shooting down airplanes and submarine hunting."U.S. Coast Guard contributes to war effort: On April 17, 1943, U.S. Coast Guardsmen watch the explosion from a depth charge they have dropped on the German submarine U-175. Spotting the U-boat on sonar as it maneuvered to attack an Allied convoy in the mid-Atlantic, the Coast Guard cutter Spencer took the submarine by surprise. Coast Guardsmen boarded the badly damaged submarine when it surfaced and rescued the surviving 41 German crewmen. In the Atlantic, the Coast Guard sank 13 U-boats and captured two Nazi surface ships. In the Pacific, they sank at least one Japanese submarine" Also the USCGC Taney (in Baltimore Maryland) is the ONLY warship that fought in the attack on Pearl Harbor that is still alfloat. --->

I'd also like to see a link to the aces high special events web page and the AH trainers site on the toolbar.

Shameless bump...

Everything mentioned in the thread would be something great to see in Aces High, IMHO, but I think others share the same views as well.

We need a Russian level bomber. IMOHO thats a must and #1. I'd like the TU-2 personaly. Then we need a perk bomber because as of now we only have one and very few fly the thing. I think bombers have to come first for once. My preferance is the A-26, since I know we'll never get the 29.

But let me ask this? When was the last time a bomber was added? Not during my time thats for sure.

The "other" variants of the KI-84 would be nice.

KI-84Ib in particular. "C" model wouldn't suk either.
