TrackIR vs Free track

I set up a free track system (see other thread) well enough to use in the MA. That being said there is zero comparison between the two. TrackIR out of the box at default is 1000% better then a fully optimized free track rig. That doesnt mean that free track is bad (its not)...just that trackIR is a polished product and freetrack isnt.

For me, cost was everything.  $25 was a lot more reseasnable than ~$200.
In game callsign: not currently flying
Flying off and on since Warbirds

No question that cost is an issue for many of us. I never felt comfortable enough to consider buying one (this is a squaddies). To me free track was marginal even when optimized where TrackIR is almost perfect out of the box (using the Aces high profile included in the software). I can't answer the $$$ question but I can say unequivocally that there is a quantum leap from one to the other.
