Sea Minefields

Hi

We've had ground minefields mentioned before, but how about sea minefields?  Would be quite good to have a boat or aircraft do some minelaying!  The shore batteries are often destroyed far too quickly!

Regards

CV groups always had some screening force ahead of them to prevent this. Given the proximity of the DD's to the CV, and the lack of seaplanes this is pretty nonhistoric.

Not to mention that the crusier, and the DD's would have mine cutting gear aboard anyway.

Agree Jigster, but anyway, mine fields could work slowing down a lot the CV group while passing by.

the ability of TBMs to lay mines would be cool, but how long would the mines last? it would have to be a long period of time to make it worthwhile

I like it!
Why not? It happened in the real war. I've suggested for subs and maybe mines could be added to the subs. I wrote the subs idea under the "New Ideas" topic. Please read and comment.

i would like to see the jap mini-sub. it would seem to be the simplest way to begin to add subs without a major adition. it could be used much like any vh with some changes.
