its funny you say that, I have been reading your posts and every time you mention mid war you make it sound inviting, I have said to myself a few times " I gotta check out Midwar"

so I think I will find myself mozzying on over there :aok

I took the time to hang with Cap in the Midwar and did have a good time.  The pace is much different than the MA and is a refreshing change.  It seems all folks on all sides were for the most part quite gentlemanly in their behavior.  I opted not to continue as most of my squaddies are hopelessly in love with the LW MA's, and I do love hanging with my fellow swine.  Howdy & Salute Cap!

The best (or worst depending on your point of view!) odds I've actually survived was 5 on 1, tho I didnt actually realise that till I checked the gun camera as 3 of them were flying the same plane and I never had more than one in view at a time!  :rofl I managed to get 3, the other 2 ran away and I rtb'd feeling quite chuffed  :D

I got 3 of 4 the other night.  The 4th one augered on his own.  Of course, I was in a Spit XVI and they were in P-47D-40 bomb trucks and were'nt flying in any type of coordinated way.  So much for that v-base killing excersize.

I love killing n00b mishins.
Who's callin' who a n00b?  Spit16 dweeb :rofl

The worst odds (in numbers) I've ever faced was in the first frame of the Midway FSO. VMF-251 had 10 F4F-4s against 100-120 D3As. We got 21 of them, but took a lot of lucky pilot wounds and pilot kills in return. Myself and my wingman RTB'd to one of the carriers. I was about of gas, guns totally empty, and counted about 50-60 holes in my plane. And as soon as I touched down on the carrier deck a B5N out of nowhere dropped a bomb on me.

Numbers don't win fights, but they sure as hell help. :furious
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

lol omg my dream happen to you=/. One time time I was w/ a group of 109G14. I dunno what happen to the mission briefing but we were told we'd be taking their enemy fighters not their bombers. So we went up w/o gondolas or w/e the extra package is. We patrol 2 sectors for 30 min and nothing happen. Then we spotted alone B17 and shot it down. Then we ran into probably 50 B17s =p. Obviously we didn't do much dmg since we only had 1 20mm. Anywho, we went in empty our guns, I'm not sure how many we nailed but we were rtbing w/ Pilot Wounds, engine out shots, gas line hit. Then we bumbed into the escort. It was a squadron of P47s (obviously fail at rondevou as usual). They caught us empty and shot up. We tangled w/ them for another 15 min and I finally disengaged. I think 2 of us made it back home alive=p it was me and someone else. 2 out of 20+ !

I've been in plenty of 3 and 4 v 1s (and more). I think they're quite a bit of fun if it's with some guys that have enough courtesy to not HO. The only problem is, in a horde, people have the "Miiineee miiineeeee" mentality, and will get the kill anyway they can

Nope didn't kill any of them. I was just greatful to have made it back to base. Something so weird about seeing 3 ponies fly past your f4s six over and over again. Did manage to get them low and slow and close to base for my squadies to kill. You could tell they were getting pretty frustrated at the near misses.

Yeah I know many of you have whipped folks in a 3 on 1. For the rest of us survival is pretty darn good.

Actually GB, congrats!   Most wouldn't appreciate it if it happened to them.

I hope you filmed it and maybe realize what you would've done better, or better yet.  What you did do to make it out.   Learn from it and build your skill set further.

Seriously, WTFG!    :rock

i've watched guys chase broken apart aircraft right to the deck, pumping away at them

Too many times this has happen, and here was my best story of a bad adv. I was flying around when I got low and slow to kill a spit in my G6. I look around to find that all of my country men had died. there were 2 other spits flying around, so I was 3v1. I fought for about 3 or 4 mins, countering every move that each of the other spits were doing. The best way I found to win is to get one on the defense, then work on the others that have the offence. It becoms a contiuous adv. on your part and you can never get shot down. So, I fought for 3 mins. then some country men came in and saved me. I killed two of them before it was all over, thats why I was happy. :)

I love fighting multiple cons on my own. Nothing like entering in one of those and get at least one of them before you go down in a firey death.

My most memorable was 3 ponies (1B and 2 D's) while I was flying a KI84 (something I had only flown a couple of times at that point). Was a blast doing a rolling scissors with multiple cons and then having one slip in front of my guns  :D

As usual though I died but I at least took one and almost 2 of them.
