Bomber pilot bailing out... Reward the nearby fighter !
« on: December 05, 2008, 11:59:53 AM »
Gents....

Spend most of my time in MID-War....
Spend many hours in a fighter looking for scraps and intercepting buffs...

There is a minority of SAD players(wanta be #1 bomber for the month) that after flying 4 sectors, will bail out when they spot/realize there's
a bogey that popped in the sector !!!!
I hate proxies and cheap victories. Flying for 20min to figure out where the bomber will appear is challenging !
Then when the black dot appears in sight, the bomber pilot also sees same. He bails out ! (gonna hurt my score ! :cry)
Far enough for proxies ! Damn the proxies, wasted time hoping to have a chance at them !

Would be nice that when a bomber pilot bails out(when his planes were never struck by a round/bullet), automatic "perk points" goes to the
fighter plane(s) in the sector ! :D
The bomber pilot doesn't lose anything with his boring actions. He lost his own time flying 45min then just bailing out ! That's his choice !
What about the fighter looking for a good challenge attacking the set ? Why can't he be rewarded ?

What about the NEW SCORING system ?
Add a column where the pilot BAILLED OUT untouched !
When we view the FAMOUS #1 bomber pilot, we could see how many times he bailled out(chickened out ! :rofl)
Ahhh yes, I won't name out the few. I have films. Pictures worth 1000words ! :D
When I confronted one of them, he simply replied : "I just wanted to make you waste your time ! "
Guess he was shocked because I reviewed the film and came back in the game asking him on the ALL chanel  :rofl
He didn't know what to say ! :P Trying to figure out how I knew it was him among 60 other players !

Those darn scores make SOME players do and say stupid thing in this great game !
These minority players make some part of this game "not fun"

Stand and fight ! Earn it !

Excellent idea, I like it  :aok
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

I favor this for both fighters & gv's.  I always quick spray all 3 bombers (assuming that they will bail) ensuring a kill awarded.  I know not all pilots bomb & bail this way, but a good portion do.

I agree with this, although i dont fly MW very often. I fly alot of bombers  and i for one have never bailed out of any bomber and those players that i have killed or those that have killed me Know i havent, i enjoy the fight between my bombers and any fighters that try and take me down. Those that bail to save rank or score for whatever reason really dont grasp the concept of this game, and should be penalized greately.

If bombers bail, ditch, crash, get captured or killed the end result is the same, decreased kill/death and damage/death. Anything but a pure "Landed Successfully" message hurts score. So if indeed they do bail when enemy fighters are around its not for score (unless they simply dont know better). Usually its for time or the ability to deny the enemy kills. Either way its a sad affair but bailing vs getting killed does not improve your score. Half the time people bail just to have a quicker turnaround time.

Maybe you are right Race...
Like I said in the initial thread, IT'S HIS CHOICE !!!
What about the player/fighter spending time trying to catch up ?

This guy should be rewarded ! Don't care about proxies ! They are cheap victories..
I'll take the free perk points !!!!

A nice msg should be displayed: " You have awarded 5 perks to
OPP7755"
That would be sooooo funny !

Hope HTC guys get to input on this topic !
Thanks to all that have responded !

I would like to see you not get perks for bailing from an undamaged plane. Sure you can fly over a town and take a few ack hits but at least thier down below 6000 AGL. The one exception would be puff ack because thats at all alts. Any run over a strat is likely to ping you aircraft everytime. May not mean you lose any parts but would count as damage. That would allow a bail without changing anything really. To be honest you lose something like half your perks anyway for not rtb'ing so would the other 50% really matter. The only way so far that most have seen is to perk heavy buffs. I disagree with that for a few reasons but mostly they are so easy to kill with patients. You know proxies dont give you perks right? You must ping them first...

I would like to see you not get anything at all (perks, points, kills) for bailing from an undamaged plane etc.

my edit, my 2d :)

I think bailing means they die anyway so it doesnt help their 'score' to jump. I think it would be good if we all recorded these missions and emailed them to HTC so they could add a category to the front page - 'Top Chicken.'  :D
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

how about: bail out of a plane undamaged by legit enemy fire, lose all the points, perks etc and then have to sit in the tower for however long it would take you to get back to the nearest usable friendly base at full power in level flight. removes score and gamey combat effectiveness as a motive - bomb and bail is basically the same as flying a box of 6 buffs

All these proposals are easy to counter for a bomb'n'bailer.

Instead of bailing those players will just push stick forward and dive their planes right into the ground. Or they may even just rip their wings to get into the tower faster.

I'd just like to see the proxie kill range extended to the nearest fighter, wherever he may be.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I propose that once a player has "X" amount of bomber perk points and they bail from a perfectly good bomber, they lose the eny value for the A/C in perks.

While this still wont stop the BnBer it may make some think twice about doing it.

Not sure what amount of perks a player would need to have this implemented, thats a decision for HTC.

All good comments......

What about the guy trying to catch up for the last 45min ? :(

Reward him with something !!!
Don't care about the buff pilot bailing out ! He can do what he wishes :rofl

The loser is the poor fighter pilot going home with no satisfaction !
The buff pilot, he's smilling anyway ! No kills !!!
