It is rather funny. I think anyone given this opportunity would have done the exact same thing, myself included. Once in lifetime. Filth is a good guy, glad it was him and not some zipcode.

That rocks!  :rock
Great pictures!  :aok

I think just about all of us dream of something like that happening to us. WTG Filth!

The 332nd Flying Mongrels flew over an enemy base as we were RTBing and film later confirmed that it had several Ar-234's on the runway rearming! We never saw them! Ugh! LOL

Good news is BigRat spotted two that just took off and he shot them down in an A-20!  :D

I was under the impression that vulching aircraft on the rearm pads was frowned upon... Isn't the focus of these FSOs supposed to be on killing the enemy in the air

Jappa52,

Bailing from an AC over enemy field and walking over to re-arm pad with .45 in hand is frowned upon in FSO.
Re-arming near the front, or a friendly base thats flashing with out top cover is foolish IMHO. Those that ran for the tower were safe...... Those that didn't, added decorations to FILTH's lapel.

A couple of us towered.  I think the majority of us were caught so off guard that we didnt know what to do, tower, man our guns, take off....Me?  I tried to man my guns only to find out that they wouldn't fire (I can only guess it was because we were on the ground).

I just ran to the nearest bomber hanger.  :D  FiLtH took out both of my drones though  :cry

nice flying Filth  :aok

:lol

Wow, talk about catching the girls with their pants down. :lol

I know there are those in FSO that have a real problem with vulching........

but in a situation like that, who among us could resist scratching the itch on our trigger finger?

AC being shot on the ground is a viable tactic in war. So, if you are rearming and you hear the whine of a jet engine in the distance, might be a good time to type...... ".ef"

Exactly, we were rearming to go and drop bombs on his homeland. The reason that i did not tower is that i figured there were so many of us on the ground he couldnt hit us all, while i knew some of us were toast i personally rolled the dice and lost. He didnt get us all though, some made it through and continued to drop on targets.
Like i said in a previous post, i would have done exactly what he did.

Consider it an early Xmas present   :D

I understand that shooting a/c on the rearm pad with your .45 is NOT legal although I don’t know why this was mentioned since that was not the case here.  The FSO I remember the vulching question being discussed was in July 2008, Der Zweite Blitz: where Stoney said it was not tolerated.  After rereading it I realize I was mistaken and understand that vulching is allowed just not for that particular FSO.

I hope you took no offense to my question Filth, I just had my facts wrong.  You will only get a golf clap from me though  :D

While this may be true in history, it is something that may or may not be a good addition to have in the FSO...It is happening, happened last frame with some opponents having no real concern on landing and getting as many kills as they could before frame end...Is it valid, sure, is this mentality something we need in mission orientated event.... that would be something the community would have to answer.
I'll save the community from having to answer for this.  Vulching in its strict sense is not tolerated within this FSO, i.e. strafing planes on the runway.  Within my power to glean information regarding such conduct from the logs and player film, kills garnered on the runway will not be scored.  That being said, there is nothing wrong with the Allies, in this case, using the tactic of trying to intercept enemy aircraft over enemy territory using anticipatory screens, etc.  That being said, the Allied CIC's shall not hold aircraft in reserve for this purpose, but merely use this type of tactic as the opportunity presents itself later in the frame.  All aircraft for both sides must be dedicated towards the completion of any of the 8 objectives assigned to each side for all 3 frames.

If I have not made myself crystal clear to anyone, let me know via PM and I will reinforce this policy in terms that you can better comprehend.

Last, I will adjust the rules in the weekly objectives to provide incentives for folks to successfully RTB without creating undue pressure on myself through an extrememly complex and time consuming nut-roll during my scoring.
