Midway

Am I the only one that thinks this Midway terrain rocks?

I love it. Palm trees, and a blue ocean, with the lighter blue water near shore. Not only that, but some palm type structures.

Love it. Too bad not more people flying there.

I went on the other day and have to say the view was cool.

I do have one question though.

Why couldn't i fly from the allied CV's?

I looked everywhere for the Graff Zeppelin to fly 109's off of and I couldn't find it.  :(

Have we tried early war Sigapore UK (Spit1 Hurri1) vs Japan?  I don't remember ever seeing that...course that doesn't mean anything.  What was I doing here again?

We did something like that a long time ago. The Spit I apparently never fought against the Zero and this was a sore spot that whole week for some reason. It was a lot of fun though and I dint see why it cant be ran again.

We've actually done this a few times, usually on the Burma map.  Hurri I v. A6M2 is a fine match, the two best turning planes in AH2.  As Slash said, we've also tried the Spit I v. A6M2 at least once (I remember twice); was a big surprise for the Brits, and not really as good a match as the Hurri I.  Our early war plane set, of course, has some significant gaps, so the setup hasn't held people's interest very long.  We'll try it again, I'm sure.

What ever happened to the PTO_1 map?  Good terrain, and base locations for Axis v USAAF and *coughs politely** USN types.

Ahhh...   A look into the the memoirs of Arlo.  :salut

"the AVA is slowly becoming what it should be, a class act. everyone is behaving acording to professional standards. and most everyone is abiding by unwritten rules of conduct and engagement."

Which, I hate to remind all, is a bs illusion of the most deluded degree. It had nothing to do with everyone abiding by anything other than what they felt like doing, at the time. Anyone who believes otherwise is just setting themselves up to whine and moan a month from now (or less). I never could understand why players of this game convince themselves that it's anything but what it is, by design, and therefore drive themselves to misery and attempt to take others with them. Which is why I'm glad some seem to feel there's a respite from it - real or imagined - permanent or not. Perhaps there may even be a whole day without some inane complaint over something really not worth complaining about.

I'm as happy as the other clams over this. :D

I never figured Arlo would stay around.  Seems like a lot of personalities come into the AvA, make a fuss, then fade away.

I believe the AvA is better now than it has been in a looooong time.
