General Playbility Notes, PLEASE READ

It is the objective of the IJN to Sink Ships
and Kill Fighter Pilots.  It is NOT the
Intent of this event to be gamey and deprive
the US of the ability to fly.  Air Field
Settings are HARD.  Feel Free to bomb the
hangers and strats all you like.  Waste your
ordinance, as they have no point value and
will not go down easy, and should they go down,
I will rebuild them.  This is the only
announcement you will receive on this subject.

A Sunday Night Scramble Special Event
Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 2008

Japanese military leaders recognized the United
States Naval strength as the chief deterrent to
war with the United States. Early in 1940,
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, Commander of the
Japanese Combined Fleet, had initiated planning
for a surprise attack on the United States Pacific
Fleet at the beginning of any hostilities that the
Japanese might undertake. The assumption was that
before the United States could recover from a
surprise blow, the Japanese would be able to seize all
their objectives in the Far East, and could then
hold out indefinitely.

The Japanese fleet set out for Pearl Harbor on
November 26th, 1941 with 6 aircraft carriers to
a position NW of Hawaii. 405 Japanese Naval
aircraft were to be used in the attack, which was
split into 2 waves.

The first wave commenced its attack a few minutes
before 8:00 Hawaiian standard time. It targeted
Battleship row and ground installations. The
attack was carried out by B5N bombers, D3A "Vals",
and A6M2 "Zero's".

Another wave followed the first attack, cleaning
up anything the first attack had failed to destroy.

We plan to re-create Pearl Harbor with this event.
It will be a 2 hour long event, being held at the
United States primetime.

CM notes
There may be Random Elements to overcome.
It is possible that the IJN may stumble upon
Neutral Fishing Boats, or a B17 Formation
returning to base.  There is a Rumor
that the Enterprise has disembarked Pearl Harbor
and May be available for
a retaliatory strike.

Designer Notes:
- Since we do not have battleships,
Cruisers will be used to represent them.
