You're not from around these parts, are you?  ;)

Have a website that details the needs and deed of the Loose Deuces?

Is this a Navy squadron or a Plane specific one?

Perspiring mind wants to know more...

Darn I'm at 1.95 this tour!! I was over 2 for most of it---still within reach. I see Gath slid in under the wire at 1.56.  Good luck with the new squad.

It's really none of my business but the k/d requirement is a bit baffling. K/D has almost no relationship to actual skill level. Looking further into the indicated type of flying its not really a requirement anyway compared to other variables IMO. :salute

dhyran wants people who Live to RTB,  to have 100% SA, call the brevity codes and make it home SAFELY.

It won't be everyones cup of tea but if your going to fly like that 2 K/D is very little to ask   :).   You could argue this would encourage timid flying but it will also discourage people going for the HO shot aswell.

Why shouldn't an A2A squadron look for a better K/D.  If I was going to do something like this i'd make it 5 - 1.

My question was why have a k/d ratio requirement to join?

Getting kills and returning to base =  a good KD.   Go out be stupid,  get kills and die = worse K/D than staying alive.  Maybe he feels 2+ KD will mean the pilot knows how to fly well enough to achieve a good level understanding for potential wingman tactics.

But as you and I both know thats an easily achievable goal. I could maintain a 5/1 K/D ratio in an SBD if I wanted with little difficulty (would be boring as all @#$#). If the desire is there then its a matter of time and training. I'm certainly at the other end of the curve but we (71 SQD) probably have about as good a group of "winged pairs" as any in the game. I've seen Bat, RT, Steff and Biggles RTB 50+ kills (as a group) per sortie on multiple consecutive hops and go an entire day with none of them going down. Teamwork, communication, SA and gunnery are all more important. Another aspect is accountability, to me a guy who picks and uses other greenies as bait might have a better k/d but wont make a good squaddie....again just my opinion.

Exactly!

its maybe just a Number, i thought about drop it down for the first three Tours, maybe someone was in a worse Squadron before and didnt get any Support. So its maybe fair to reduce a bit. But it simply shows that the Pilot isnt a Freshmen, i trained over years enough Pilots to know it just need times to become a constant good KD ratio
And i wants to recruit average and above Pilots who simply wanna fly in Formations, use Wingtactics, use the Brevity Codes. Try it, and its Fun!

Correct, but i need at first a simple level to look at. There is no Score for Teamwork, no Number for SA. But staying alive reports a lot of it.
