HTC It occurs to me that it would be more efficient to use a text file to reference the file names for gunsights on planes rather than each a/c having its own file.

What I mean is this: I have a collection of historic gunsights that I use, and historically many planes used the same gunsights. This means that for the German planes I have SIX seperate files that actually are just the same two files with different file names.

When we start getting more US Navy planes down the road, Hellcat, etc... I would like to use the same Mk8 sight for them as I use for the two Corsairs. 1 Hellcat sight file + 2 Corsair sight files = 3 files when all it really needs to be is just one Mk8 gunsight.

The later P-47s and P-51s use the same sight as well.

So, if you add the Hellcat, I will have 11 sights for 11 planes, when all it really has to be is 4 sights for 11 planes.

ya dig?

I have I think 5 different files, and your post probably took longer to type than all the time I have ever spent renaming the files.

LOL! FUNKED!

BTW if someone has good 109 custom sights I'd love to give them a try.

I currently have the historical Revi one, not bad. But I want to try some others

Thanks

Funked, you totally missed my point, man!

I was not speaking about the efficiency of typing! I was speaking to the efficiency of having many more files using up your texture memory than you need to.

Historical Gunsights Bank for AH here. It's made by nabe. I helped to make some files too.

Yup Batmann   I have the Revi sight downloaded from your page, and I use it on the Me109G10...(nice page,BTW  )

Still I was looking for other custom sights, not historical ones, to give them a try. I am currently flying G10 a lot and the 30mm is devilish to aim...

Yeah, most of mine came from Nabe's site. The rest I got from that EAW gunsight page, I just had to edit the color palette for it to work right in Aces High.

This is the one gunishgt I use (home made)

Link for download in b,p format is http://www.geocities.com/stsantasatan/109g10.bmp

It works well; in the 109G10, I have zoom as far back as I can, and the original gunsight was simply too large to be effective.

Not the best gunsight available, but adequate for my G10 needs

plain ol single dot seems to work best for me , not usually enuf time to "read" the bars n stuff to get fast shot off.  But how about the ability to use custom gunsights for the tank , THAT.. WOULD BE GREAT.
