262
« on: December 13, 2008, 09:23:50 PM »
Sicne the update came out, i been losin 262's to all sorts of bullets rather easily (and i mean like 2 .50's at most...just lost one to 1 .50). I heard that HTC strengthened the wings up, but it seems that the vert stab is real soft...

Wondering if anyone else noticed this

Just because you only see one hit sprite doesn't mean you were hit with 1 bullet. I get the feeling a hit sprite is flashed for every 10-20 bullets for 50 cal. The larger rounds are less numerous and I think what you see is what you get.

hit sprits happen every time a bullet lands on a target. however you do not see what your emy sees on your end. you will never see how many rounds actually hit you unless you go back and look at film viewer. still you will not see all of the shots taken, but you will see more then you did while fighting.  :salute

Overall arena wide K/D of the 262 has dropped considerably after the update. I got curious and was looking up the numbers after suddenly loosing 262's at an alarming rate ;)

Numbers seem to indicate that the 262 is suffering particulary when attacking bombers now compared to the time before the update - which could lead to the conclusion that indeed the 262 is even  less able to take damage now than before.

even though it couldmean, as you said, I feel it takes significantly less rounds to kill one. maybe by chance one of the HTC members will swing by and shed light on me about this.

Seem just as tough to me, within the past 2 days, I've been in a jug, dove on a 262, and doing 500+, the 262 flopped his plane all around, and didn't lose any flying surfaces. I think they should be even softer, I would imagine that in real life, had a 262 flopped around like these two guys did, the wings would have ripped right off.

the 262 should be easy to kill if you hit it, as it was in rl. But it was mainly the engines 1 round of 303 could take out a 262 engine
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

The problem is, unless there happened something dramatic, anecdotal references does help only so far. Of course this goes both ways. When I suddenly started to lose 262 after 262, it could very well have been just bad luck. And probably it just is ;)

But this are the total 262 K/Ds for the last 24 months, whole LW arena

It's not proving anything, but the sudden drop in K/D after update makes me wonder...

Yep, cause there isn't any protection to the jet engines hanging off the wings saying shoot me...compared to a prop engine that is encased in the plane.
