Thndregg,
If no supplies reach the object, it will be down indefinitely.
That part is incorrect.  Strats supported by the supply chain will be down for a maximum of the listed downtime.

Thanks for the response. On a related note, in LWO tonight it seems the vast majority of Bish had no clue what purpose a barracks serves in the game. You knits ought to roll us easy. Bish are leaving you all the resources you need.

Murdr,

The listed downtimes for strats supported by the supply chain indicate the amount of reduced downtime that needs to be delivered to bring the strat back up.  The time it takes for the strat to repair has nothing to do with how much time passes on the clock.

When a player looks at the strat chart in the Help Section and sees a 2 hour downtime, he thinks it works the same as a hanger and that a strat taken down at 10:00 will stay down until 12:00.  Then he see the strat back up in less then 40 minutes and thinks they must be running supplies when it is just the convoys delivering their normal 30 minuets of reduced downtime every 10 minuets.

The actual amount of time a strat is down depends on how long it takes to deliver the required amount of reduced downtime.  You can decrease the amount of time by running supplies, or increase the time by destroying the controlling facility below 50%.  You can also increase the time by intercepting the convoys and trains.  In theory, if you are able to prevent any supplies (reduced downtime) from being delivered, the strat should stay down.

Downtimes are part of the arena object settings.  The unit value is minutes.  Whatever value they may be set at, the maximum downtimes are hard numbers.

In the TA I have many of the strat targets set with a downtime of 1 minute so people can practice bombing, and have fresh targets quickly.  Once the downtime has expired, the object will respawn even if no supplies have been delivered.

The strat supply system can only reduce the downtimes for objects that can be resupplied, but lack of supplies does not prolong it beyond the maximum downtime.

Murdr;

Okay, I can see how it can be coded that way.  I just need to change the way I was thinking about it.  Turns out the supplies do not repair anything; they just speed up the process by taking time off the clock, and the clock is always running.

Thanks.

Oh Amen Thndregg. BTW Cooley and the gang plus myself went on a strat killing spree. We kill strats at 195, 199, and 145. Well I think it was Cooley anyway. I only had to kill one barracks at 195. Someone killed strats at 192 as well.

Glad to hear I'm not the only strat nut. I just need to learn to step away from the machine every now and then. :o
