109 Film tests - need input
« on: December 15, 2008, 10:17:24 PM »

So in my preparation for starting my next AH movie, I'm running some new effects, including plane sounds, and increasing the quality of the video (from 720x480 to 1152x768).  I'm looking for some feedback on these three short scenes I put together.  Mainly the video and plane sounds/effects.  I included music with it, but did not really sync it with the video as this probably won't be the music I'll end up using anyways.

So far my planes are when I finish this movie I'll put together a better, more comprehensive camera shot tutorial.

Also, when I put the movie together, I'll need some volunteer pilots.  1 pilot for extensive dogfight filming and 2 more for a much shorter scene.  If interested, pm me.

Just right click on and go to 'Extract All'

I used Fraps, Sony Vegas 8 with some special effects plugins by NewBlue.

Is that supposed to be the same 109F-4 sortie throughout the film?  I can see a drop tank rank in one scene that wasn't there before. ;)

Really impressive stuff.

Man, that looks good! Excellent job. My personal preference would be lower volume on music and higher on the engine sounds. But then I don't know how to make those movies.  :aok

It wasn't a real movie.  It was some MA films I had taken and I used it to test footage for an upcoming planned movie.

And thanks for the comment Lye-El, I know that sound was kind of loud and I would work with lowering the music volume on the real version.

Fulmar, I'm pretty sure you'll figure out how to reduce the music volume. However I'll recommend it anyways.

Audacity has an option to amplify music, however you can use the same feature to de-amplify your selected piece of music. Helps out when attempting to lower the volume of some music files.

Oh I know how to do it, its not a problem controlling volume levels in vegas.  Its a matter of finding an acceptable balance between the game sounds and the music.

I figured you knew how, just chunked the idea out there in hopes that you or someone else might be able to make use of it.
