The keyword is free.

Windows Movie Maker is the only really free one I've played with.  But its pretty basic.  I am not aware of any 'real' free ones.  Try searching Sourceforge for some.  Or what you can do is download Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere and do their 30 day trials.

That is the newest version and the Pro Pack has some added sound mixing abilities IIRC.  This is the link to the trial.

Nope, I dont trust programs from limewire. They tend to frag computers...

- Cinelerra  (The best,  but very hard IMHO)
- Avidemux ( Easy )
- Kino
- VirtualDub ( Free for Windoze BSOD. Lots of users and docs. )
