Million Air - at a major airport in New York, is selling 100LL for less then most places sell Diesel? $2.69/gal

WOW! :O

Now if this were the case with other airports I'd be rather curious as to why airline carriers aren't lowering their fares.

Haha. ALB is about an hour and 45 minutes east of where I live. Saw that Million Air place when I flew down to Daytona.

Maybe they are trying to use 100LL as a loss leader to attract piston aircraft.

Doubt that - good friend of mine who runs Atlantic over at Bridgeport says they charge the $6.00 per gallon for JET A b/c they'll pay it and not care. Its all a justified tax writeoff.

100LL isn't a loss leader - no one makes money on the stuff these days. A jet taking 1500 gallons won't care if its $5 or $6. A piston guy is more sensative to those prices. All the profit is rolled up in servicing hair dryers.

100LL is finally starting to come down now that all that was made when oil was $130 a barrel plus is being used up.  Will see more and more of these prices soon. I bought it for $2.88 full serve the other day and was ever so happy to not have to climb up on the stupid ladder to fuel the cessna in the freezing cold and wind.  I remember over the summer at one airport we were paying $8 a gallon off the truck.

It's probably only the first 5 gallons at that price, just to get you hooked. Then they got you.  :O
