What is the Squad Dueling League?

Check us out at our new open forum, under Special Events forums. In it you will find a description of the league, and instructions on how your squad can get involved.

Essentially the league is an intermediary for squads looking to find organized A2A engagements. We have some great talent already in the league, and the focus is on good flying, good tactics, and sportsmanship.

There are six squads already in the league, and we are looking to double or even triple that number with active squads who enjoy the type of organized, teamwork focused air combat that is rarely found in the MA's. We keep standings of official duels, and may eventually introduce a bracket competition.

No set time or schedule, it is up to the two participating squads to work that out. Hopefully that leaves open the greatest flexibility for everyone.

As for logging on to see the "Aces High Squad Dueling League" forum, it should be public and therefore visible to registered users and guests alike. I will try logging out and test it.

Hmmmmm, strange, you do need to be a registered user and logged into the BBS to see it. Not sure why it is that way, other league forums are able to be seen by guests, we will have to ask Skuzzy about that.

Will the results of the matches be public ? as in posted  or just an informal type deal ?

Results are posted in the SDL Officers Club.  I will defer to the club management as far as public posting of results goes.  Suffice to say that it was great fun, good fights, good sticks, historical matchups, and for a few hours last night, this felt like a WW2 combat flight SIM again, for all involved.

Cant believe more squadrons haven't signed up for this league,  To make it a great success and have matches every weekend we will need more participants.

Nothing can beat the adrenaline rush of merging 6 on 6, or more, with your squadron and having a good fight.  No whining, No gangbanging just a controlled environment for a multi con engagement.

Hands down the best two hours of gameplay available in AcesHigh. 

332nd and JG11 went with around 12 vrs. 12.

5 Rounds (plus 1 bonus) of well flown, well fought 8K merges in roughly even, Historical matchups.  Not a single whine or poor sportsmanship comment, or action from anyone involved.  Damaged a/c disengaging were allowed to ditch by both sides without even discussing it.  Heck, if we started earlier we probably would have went 10 rounds...It was that much fun.  Too me, that's what it is all about.  Nothing but hard fought, well played air to air combat.

Salute the 332nd.  A class act foeman for sure.

Good to hear! Sounds like you guys had the type of time that is exactly what we envisioned when we started the league. We are still looking to get more squads involved, send me a PM if your squad would like to join in.
