Spotters
« on: February 02, 2009, 11:27:00 AM »
How about  Jeep controlled Artillery. Say 10 rounds available with a small perk ? It would be fun to roll a few HEs in on a town or field. It would make roach runs alot more interesting. Arti barrage rolling ahead of a GV assault to clear a path would be neat to watch.

I'm all for arty, but I think it should be human controlled/fired.  If you guys ever played the battlefield series, they had a pretty interesting artillery system.  Someone called a spot that had a view of the target, then the person in the artillery piece had a view of the spotter and could self adjust the spots.  The view only lasted 60 seconds or so.

There's been three or more threads on this in the last week or two.

Try it out with the CH 8in. guns first and get back to us.

To be able to buy a arty support to the GP for a wee perk for instance is IMHO a very good idea.
Say it would be a perk issue with limited rounds, aimed by the GP.
Perhaps fired from the spawn, with the only limit of no enemy GV's nearer than a mile or so.
Really,- quite an idea, and doesn't even incorporate a new vehicle or modelling.
Later on, the Arty could be incorporated. Also that would add some gameplay,- if those driving would get co-ordinates from a spotter.
From RL it makes more sence than Panzer-in-town
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

With the traffic around here, I've entertained the idea on more than one occasion.     :devil
