wish i would have known, i definitely would have joined the defenders side.

LW was the same noe horde missions attacking bases when nobody was around to defend them.

the worst part is that by the time anyone gets there to defend it, they already got all the hangers down.

this to me is an exceptionally lame tactic. if your gonna bum-rush a base that has only a couple, if any, defenders at it, then why the need to drop all the hangers first?

are these people so insecure of their ability to drop a town and defend the troops with the 20 or 30 planes they are attacking with that they feel they need to drop the hangers? are they to pathetic to be able to cap a base even with such a superior numbers advantage?

guess you gotta be a real tough guy cartoon pilot to be able to handle your own against undefended buildings, they must put up one hell of a fight.

i use to fly with the B.O.P.'s (<S> ALL), i loved that most (sadly not all but most) of their missions were done without taking out any hangers. they would pull a smash and grab while enemy pilots were upping to defend the base. they failed to capture some bases for this very reason, but at least the missions were fun.

I've seen the B.O.P.'s capture a base in under 2 minutes from the time the first shot was fired, there were 3 enemy fighters and a couple of GV's on the way from the base at the time the troops were running.

sorry for the High Jack, just biotchin out loud.

I dunno, I think I was there...I remember flying and fighting and killing and dying...and having a blast.  Perhaps I should pay more attention to base numbers.

Meh, on second thought I think I'll just keep looking for dar-bars and calls for help.  More fun to fight than to keep track of details...now where did I put my joystick?

ok ok i thank you for your attempt at modesty, but lets give credit where it is due!

we had one fight over the water that was outside of the swarming of bees going on at the base, and you proficiently twisted and turned me into knots. you without a doubt kick my DOT all over the ocean, and had it not been for the fact that you only had BB's and that i managed to keep you (and of that i am convinced it was luck far more than skill) from outright pilot killing me then our fight would have been over long before it even began.

before you even mentioned that you were bingo ammo i knew buy all the damage i had sustained at your hands that there was no possibility that i was going to return to base in any other fashion than by way of go to tower, do no pass runway, do not collect the glory of landing kills, go straight to tower!

thus was my reason for nosing over and taking the short route into the water, i wanted to be certain that the person that had earned it received credit for my demise.

i will agree that with all my lack of skills, i may not have left enough of an impression upon you for you to remember the event, but you did alot of flying, plenty of fighting, far too much of the killing but unfortunately none of the dying! the dying was all mine and mine alone.

so i would thank you sir to take the credit for everything else, but step off my dues and give me all of my well deserved credit for the dying!

you got yours, now leave me mine!!

<S> again

Orange has been a real bore this week except for the MoM on TT, and even that didn't exactly go off without a hitch (90 plane mission - VOX caputing mid mission = unguided horde).  Glad to hear that there may be more interesting things going on in MW and Blue, I'll be sure to check them out.

I do remember battles, just not base numbers.  I indeed remember this fight and you do yourself a dis-service by saying you lack skills.  It was a great fight and I salute your honor at augering to give me the kill (which I really didn't expect) before an approaching countryman got close enough to finish you off.

One other thing that led me to not quite remember the events of the original post is the fact that I play TOO much and one day blurs into another - I could have sworn this fight was a few days ago...like 12/14 or 12/15.

:salute Flotsom - until our next encounter.

Yes... several great fights in MW that night.  First on the defense, then on the offense.  Variety is the spice of life after all.

One question... 1LTCap got his uber secret SAPP decoder ring and cheat codes before me?!?!?   :furious  No justice I tell ya... I've seen him fly the 38... makes Shuffler look like Bong.  :D
