I'd love to see the Naval war, cranked up to a respectable level..
In a perfect AH world, we would have...
The Carrier fleets, (Task Forces)..
But with 2 carriers, and 2 AA Cruisers instead of heavy..
And with a more REALISTIC damage model..
ie: Crater the deck, no planes fly, untill its repaired..
Also
Amphibious Invasion fleets, (Task Forces)...
1 Slow Old Battleship, 1 hvy Cruiser, 4 APA's (Assault Transports),
2 LST's, and 5 Destroyers... Fleet Capabilities?
How about this?
Battleship; does what battleships do.. Go's boom on Air/sea/land targets w 14in guns..
Heavy Cruiser, Does the same, just like we have now..
APA's, would spawn LVT's as normal.. And also LCVP's (Higgins boats) with drones.. That could beach and drop 30 troops each..
LST's could beach, and spawn 5 gv's each.. Any kind you wish!!! Like seagoing VH's..
Destoyers would act as normal, escorts...
All ships would have normal auto/manned Ack guns...
If ya sink the APA's, no more LVT's or landing craft...
If ya sink the LST's, no more vehicle spawns...
Fleet commanders would have a list of ships available in the fleet, and could release them at will, to player control for landing op's..
Players would also have spawnable Destroyers, (like PT boat)...
Fubuki's would be REALLY cool.. with Reloadable Longlance Torps and smokescreens...
Also:
Surface combat fleets, (Task Forces)...
2 Fast Modern Battleships, 2 hvy Cruisers, 5 destroyers..
Mission, to protect your own fleets, and hunt down the enemies fleets...
Each port, would spawn 1 each of the 3 task forces, the 3 TF's would make up a Fleet...
To survive, they would have to co/op...
Naturally the seaside Base/towns would need strengthening as well
Manned Heavy/light ack in the towns...
VH's in the towns..
14inch disappearing gun, shore batteries in open pits, w 360deg traverse...
Along w the 8inch we already have...
