Rebates...Hate em!

I sell OCZ products amongst, eVGA, Asus, Mushkin, etc.  Rebates are not handled in-house.  It is most often an outside company tracking sales or promotions.  In my opinion we all like to save monies, but if your buying a product strictly for the rebate, you have lost you mind.  How about the 12v rails and how many and at what amp do they operate at, or memory what are the timings.

Forget rebates and buy what you need for your system and get the best you can afford.  Processors for instance, Microcenter (national chain) consistently beats newegg's prices, heck I am a dealer and go to Microcenter for them over my suppliers.

Never depend on the rebate, when a 3rd party gets involved, it is unusual to work out well.

Okay this post is old butttt I got both of my rebates last week. So there is hope.

Talk about rebate hell... Motorola!  I purchased a motorola surfboard cablemodem a while back and sent in the rebate stuff and received a check and deposited it to my account and I was a happy camper.  One week later... Bank mails me a letter stating that my check from motorola was cancelled by motorola without explaination.  They left no number to call and attempts to contact a real person concerning it at Motorola is like trying to get gold out of a silver mine.  I HATE REBATES!

I had built a new computer last may or so, and got all my rebates, finally.  Got the last one a week before christmas.  Been so long I had forgotten about it and it was for a case I had bought.  And yeah a lot of paperwork and number writing. 

So next time I build a computer, I dont think I will include the rebate price reduction in my figures, as it may take 6-8 months for some of the rebates to clear.  And by gollies    with my memory if a company waits long enough and they "forget" to send rebates, I'm SOL.
