ODBAL, I just upgraded from a Golden Eagle Orion series to a Parker Hornet 2 Plus. My question to you is what type of sight are you using. I have an old single pin sight on the Eagle but it won't transfer to the new bow. By single pin I mean from the bottom. I looked at the Apex series but I'm not to familiar with the new technology since I haven't shot or hunted for 15 years as of last year. Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.

What are you using your bow for mostly, or singularly?  Do you shoot 3D and hunt? Or just hunt?  If you just hunt do you have a fixed yardage you are more than likely to shoot from?  And, how much do you want to spend? 

I had a Sureloc Sportsmans Special on my last "hunting bow" that was a single sliding pin.  I absolutely loved it.  Couple that with the Archer's Advantage software and you have a winner.  They are very expensive though, and unless you know how far you are shooting from it may not be the best for hunting.  They do make a sliding 3 pin sight which would be better for hunting.  HHA also seems to make some good sights that are similar to the Sureloc.

If you want a 5 pin more traditional sight I have heard great things about the Spot Hogg sights, and G5 makes a very nice one also.  I would get on archerytalk.com and check out their classifieds.  If you are patient you will be able to find something there for a great price.  Make sure you check their feedback before you buy it though.  If you get there and register send me a friends invite, my name there is SaltLakeArcher

I basically hunt and I'll be competing in a league this winter. I use my hunting set up during league and have never shot any 3D. I generally have my pin set at 20 yards and then shoot different distances by pin location( above the bullseye at 30 yards, below at 10 etc.). I figure there may not be much adjustment with this bow because its rated at 325 fps. I believe my Eagle w/ overdraw shoots at 275 fps but I'm not sure. As far as money goes I was looking at $130.00 to $180.00. I can sell the sight on which is a Cobra brand, not sure of the exact make. I bought the bow used from a guy that only hunted with it twice. I'll post a picture if I can figure out how to get one on here. 

I'm going to my local archery shop tonight to get my wife sized up for a bow. I had a Mathews that I bought used and sold it there on consignment. Thanks for the help....

Spaz, Check out this link on Archerytalk.  This guy has some sights for sale at $70.00 each, been on there quite a while.  I would PM him and offer him $60.00 shipped and see if he would take it.  For your use I would get the 3 pin slider.  Your bow will probably shoot roughly the same pin at 20/30, so you could set your pins at 20/30, 40, and 50.  Then it will slide and you can use the bottom pin for targets out past 50.  Do yourself a favor and find some 3D shoots in your area and go shoot them!  It is a blast.  Here is the linky....
