Dot commands
« on: December 25, 2008, 06:40:42 AM »
Here is my X-Mas wish :-)

I would like to have the possibility to automatically execute dotcommands f.e:

--->

  • entering Lobby:  .sr
  • Going otr: .speed xxx

Yeah, it's not that hard to type a couple of characters...
That said, perhaps the ability to create special dot command macros would be something worth looking into (although I believe it's been asked for more than a few times before).

.macro blah
Could execute:
.speed 180
.salvo 2
.delay .15

.macro enterarena
Could execute:
.showjoin 0
.radio 5 133
.radio 2 3
.squelch <gameid>
.squelch <gameid>
etc.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit
NVidia GTX 970 4Gb ACX 2.0
Track IR, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Pedals

I'm with the ideas of macros.

That'd be pretty cool. We'd all set our own defaults?

Although it's not that hard, I completly agree. I wouldn't argue with it being something like in Call of Duty and the binds...

/bind (key) do (i.e. say) (whatever you want it to do)

So for example, if you want a /. command...

/bind L say .speed 155

All for it.  :aok

Actually I would love the ability to make a limited number of macro's. Be it combination of key or stick button etc.

For one thing I wouldn't have to type "http://trainers.hitechcreations.com" every 5 minutes anymore.

Could execute:
.showjoin 0

.showjoin only needs to be executed once to send join requests to your text buffer. It is permanent until you change it back.

Actually, no it isn't.  I switch arenas quite often, and many times when I return to an arena, the showjoin command got reset to the popup box.  Trust me.

Perhaps one day I'll try to see if it has to do with jumping to different servers:
Quote from: Skuzzy
First, the server IP addresses, to be used for traces/ping plots.

Early, Mid, Late War Orange Main Arena Server Address: 206.16.60.39
Axis vs Allies, Training, Dueling, Late War Blue: 206.16.60.41
Special Events: 206.16.60.38

Dot...

Watch when you log into an arena. The host will tell you if those messages will come in your text buffer. If you don't see the message...just type it in. It is 'semi' permanent. :)

Yeah, I know that.  How do you think I know it has reset itself?  :D
I don't like to wait until some zipcode wants to join me just as I'm about to pull the trigger on the con 300 in front of me, just to find out the showjoin got reset.

AW had some macros. But can't you set your kb up for some macros?
