Stupid Vista problem

Which  I suppose, is redundant. Got my kid a Bluetooth module for her Dell laptop. (to allow her to use a Bluetooth mouse, which stores/charges inside the pcmia/card-bus thingie when not being used) Installing the module is very easy...done this 3 times now. Installing the SOFTware, however: warning emanates from Window, stating that you must be logged on as Administrator to install the Bluetooth software.....there is only ONE @#$$ account on the computer, and it obviously IS an administrator. (Doesn't have that name though, is kid's name) I manged to turn 'user account control' off, which stopped the inane questions about "Do you want to continue %$%$%$ process"?, but it didn't help with my initial problem...Did I mention that Vista sucks? 

(Also, plug and play seems to be off, as the module doesn't even show up in device manager with the dreaded exclamation point)

Sounds more like a Vista original install error.  I have Vista Ultimate with  2 bluetooth devices (cell with sysc and another PDA) along with wireless mouse and keyboard.  No problems what so ever.  Vista Bashers blame Vista for everything.  Meanwhile it is 100 percent more secure then XP every was or will be.  Yes it is a little more bloated then XP but that is easily fixed by turning off the not needed things that are turned on by default.

Its a safety issue for those not using browser protection and login as the Admin.  Some websites out there use scripting to infect computers with malware and virus's.  This is a simple front line security.  A little annoyance goes a long way to keeping your system safe.

Did you try to right click the installer and choose 'run as administrator'? I've found that sometimes it's necessary even if the user account is set as admin.

To disable UAC, open up msconfig from Start->Run (you will need to switch the Start panel to "Classic View"), then under the "Tools" tab, scroll down until you find the "Disable UAC" option and run it.

From the keyboard you can hit hit "Windows Key-R" to open the run window (that is if your keyboard has a "Windows Key").

I think he did that.  There is a registry FIX to turn off and not get the annoying reminder poping up.  But more then I really wanted to type here in case there is a problem.  Not interested in killing someones registry with a Forum Post

Already managed to kill that, which helped somewhat, but didn't address this problem:

"You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of this machine. Log on as Administrator and then retry this application" ......there is only one user, and 'guest' is turned off....

Hadn't heard of that..tried it..same results, lol. I believe Tildeath has the right of it--I'll pester you at office on Monday for regedit (if that's what they call it in Vista)
