is there any way to tell how many shore battery emplacements a field has without actually going to the field in question? Thanks in advance.

There isn't any way currently, I don't believe.

No, you have to do a recon, some have no SB's, some have one and some have two.  I don't recall seeing more then two on any location.  They seem to take 3000lbs of Ords to take down, are down for 15 min.  Resupply does not help.

Some do have 3.  A11 in last nights LW Blue is one example. Otherwise, all above is correct.
