Looking for some info: 371st ENGR C BN, CO A
« on: December 29, 2008, 10:22:33 AM »
Cant find any really good sources of information on the engineer detachments.

Is there a go-to source for this type of thing of which Im not aware?

Doing some research on a deceased family member.

All I found and quite outdated:  http://www.geocities.com/armypeacock/

Thanks.

This site has some photos of the 371st at Camp Chicago.

Another photo with caption of a bridge rebuild.

This is about a specific guy who was in the same unit. While it's not your relative, if your relative served during the same time period in the same unit, it should show details of the unit's movement during that time period if you find any of those.

Same thing. About this other guy, but shows where he went to with that unit during a specific time period.
KELLER, Harold H. "Susie" (Pfc.); ….son of Louis Keller….in the Army….and went overseas in February 1945 with the 371st Engineer Construction Battalion, Co. C   [Section 4, page 1;  with photo]

This guy keeps a 371st website, with an option to contact him.

I'll look for more in a bit.

You might want to consider making contact with Ft. Leonard Wood and the Engineer School there. They may be able to direct you to a museum or an archive location that has records that you are looking for.
