Friend System
« on: December 30, 2008, 04:06:24 PM »
I think they should have a friend system. It will sorta work like the squad system but diffrentaly.  You can send invites to other people to be your friend.  There should be like a friend chat...just like squad chat.  You can talk to your friends in diffrent countrys if need be.  You can put like .fr to find friends...just like .sr to find squadies.  Your friends can be diffrent colors depending on what you set your GUI at.  I think it would be cool and good for Aces High 2.

I agree with this, I would like to keep in contact with some people who play on different sides. The only down side I can think of is that it would be used to "spy" in some circumstances.

We want a second Myspace?  :huh

I say no. If we had this, the fact that many people are like that and will spy, either because they're cheap or they get mad and they want to point out a certain location where an operation is taking place thanks to they're friends. Yeah, no.

I agree with fyb...people WILL spy or give out locations...you know who your friends are you can pm them any time. There is already a . command to find what arena they are in. You can private message across arenas as I recall(sorry idk if you still can...just got back from a year break). Keep it on myspace and aim :aok

I see more bad reasons than good here. For one, some people on here are either friends with hundreds. How would that person get all them onto a friends list?? Maybe put a few in, but then to the others it wold be like saying "You're out of my 5" ( :lol). Some of the "gamers" on here will definitely use it to 'spy' on other countries. The biggest frustration that could come out of it is those few who would be sending friend requests to EVERYONE! Sure you can just set the message to the text bar and not a pop-up (like we do with the join requests), but I for one would be quite annoyed seeing a guy, whom I don't even know, sending tons of friend requests to me! Would really spam the message bar!

To keep this from being all negative, the fun things would be knowing if your "BFF's" are on and where. Always fun to play with some great friends.  ;) :aok

I it would be nice to have a channel for 'friends', if no one from your squad was on or whatever and you wanted to fly with someone else... or just do a quick '.fr' instead of typing .f for everyone you know.

BTW you can already PM across countries and arenas, you can use the .f to see what arena someone is in and then the roster to find out which country, and all channels 200 and over work across countries as well. This wouldn't give out any spying tools that we don't already have.

Ok, <HIJACK>

I don't think it stands for anything, it just makes it more squeakerish.
