I tried to find the current cost.  Started to get a headache.

Basically, for large manufacturers, it sounds like a 3% fee.  As much as new taxes suck, I think when you are talking Millions of dollars, they can afford it.

Under current U.S. laws a U.S. citizen in answering Vulcans original question could easily be construed as violating the Logan Act.

political discussion is not allowed.

It's been awhile, but wow. Really?!?!

Thinking about past political discourse it's probably for the best, but I can't seem to get past the notion that the o'club is for that type of discussion.

Anywho...carry on...............

And it has. I'll trust you. If I need to memorize rules and their numbers I think I'll just not bother. My brain only has so much space

Nope, maybe here but the firearm companies would move to a friendly country like so many of our companies are doing because of the stiffening restrictions on business, IE taxes, regulations, lawsuits etc.

so if colt moved from hartford and set up shop in taiwan for instance they could circumvent state department bureaucracy that according to a gun importer/dealer in new zealand that i spoke to, is largely responsible for the increase in costs to the end user as well as the tighter restrictions on the export of certain guns and parts?

i thought u.s laws/regulations applied to u.s owned companies operating off shore?

Just so I'm clear on this... gun control (and potential) = political, but cool gun stuff = not?

Opinions about guns does not have to be political, nor politically based.  Opinions about gun control (i.e. I do not care for gun control) is not political.  Discussing the politics behind gun control is politics.

Theoretically, if it was manufactured in Taiwan, it would not be exported from the U.S. and would not require an export license since it is not being exported.
