how do you swap out a "squad CO"?
« on: January 01, 2009, 12:08:59 PM »
Can you swap out a CO or does the squad need to be reformed?

AFAIK you need to disband and have the new CO start fresh.

That's correct.

Squad has to be disbanded and started again.  Or you can appoint a CO and wait until Skuzzy clears out the canceled accounts at which time the noseart and the squad will not be recognized or listed.

Think thats what happened to RV.  There is no way to replace the CO without disbanding??? Not even a call to HTC???

Disbanding usually takes away a lot of scoring records when searching for how well certain squads did in the past. You can still find the names involved with the squad but not the complete list of it's members at the time of the last CO's reign. The Aces have gone through this twice so far, once with CoFlys last year and a few months ago again with A8Balls  stepping down

Bronk I have no clue what my thoughts are, if not for the guys I fly with I'd have left along time ago. Its not big deal to keep the account its more a question of if i'm actually playing at all. Since both of the other wings are full its a bit moronic to have the only active (in the sense that it has space) wing "CO'd" by an MIA player. One of the guys gave me a trackIR rig and while I fooled with it I've never committed to it. Given the poor views in the A-20/SBD the trackIR created a lot of issues for me T&B wise. I may just go the trackIR route and go pure SA (read "drive by's") for a tour or two or go spend some time in the TA if thats not an imposition on the formal training crew. I've simply reached a point that the game as currently played doesn't hold my interest....of course I may just borrow a used 38 from guppy and see what I can do if i spend a few months in the twin egg beater.

I know what you're talking about snap, and I know alot of others who will just log in, see there's not much going on, and log out. Most of the time I don't even make it into the arena. I'll go into the lobby, see what squadies are on, and if there isn't, I'll just check it again later. Hope you decide to stick around though, and I know there's room for another 38 stick out there  :)

As a majority owner of cyber Lockheed stock, I can promise you that there are plenty of twin egg beaters around.  They might be a bit dinged up, but we've got plenty of em.  More then happy to wing up anytime.

I hear ya. Plenty of times I've logged in, and promptly logged out seeing nothing going on, and go play another game.

The squad does not have to be disbanded in order to reform under a new CO.  A squad in Aces High II is built around the CO.  The name of the squad is arbitrary.  In otherwords, the same name can be used under a different CO.

To form under a new CO, all the existing members would simply have to leave the current squad, and the new CO has to invite the members back into the new squad.

All stats for that squad will be lost, as the squad is based on the CO.
