Perk Requests
« on: June 27, 2001, 01:36:00 PM »
Time for another request/whine/gripe about perk points. I have been having great fun flying low level ground attacks in the Typhoon against defended fields.  These runs are very historic, and in order to live you get 1 pass at high speed.  Now the Typhoon, and most other fighters as well, does not carry enought ordinance to actualy destory a hanger on 1 pass, so I really never get a point for flying it.  Unless I go after fuel or other such low value targets.
I would like to see the following changes in the perk point system:

1) Give 100 perks at the start of each tour for anyone under 100.  If you have over 100, you keep what you have.
2) Allow perk points to accumulate slowly for time spent in the air, online. If no control input is given in over an hour the perk counter stops until input is given (this stops the park it at a back base and leave).
3) Give perks for damage done, not just things destoryed, or aircraft killed.
4) Give perk points for makeing and takeing part in missions. (A mission would have to include at least 3 aircraft, and be at least .75% filled to qualify for points)

Just something to think about.

3 planes 1=33% 2=66% 3=100% :)
mabe 4? 1=25% 2=50% 3=75%  :p
some interesting ideas but... I dont know how well they would promote engagement.

Perk Points? arrrrgh I knew about this but still P's me off.

SPEND PERK POINTS to take a 152 up and CAP a friendly field, see two B17's and shoot'em down of course I take damage, Enemy planes are inbound I need to get it down fast before I'm vulched trying to land.  Flaps and rudder are bent touch down over shoot runway but brake to a stop a few yards off the end.  Expecting a heroes welcome for defending the place at risk of losing a valuable craft what receive instead is -48 perks.  What a load of crap, why even bother anymore?

Leave the perk program the way it is, including the aircraft.

Not bad, but giving 100 perk points to everyone under 100 means the guy with 30 ends up with 130 perkies, while the guy with 101 stays there. Is that fair? Instead just bring everyone with less than 100 to 100.
