Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway
« on: January 04, 2009, 08:33:52 AM »
Anyone played it yet? I think I'm getting close to beating it.

It's a very very fun and addicting game. It's hard though, and people who get mad easily shouldn't break it, or have money for a new XBox on the line.

I really like it because of how realistic it is. How you actually have to hide behind cover, and how it's a combo of a 1st and 3rd person shooter. How it takes only 1 bullet to kill you no matter what, even on the easiest mode. The strategy involved with it is amazing as well.

My favorite tactic is to have the Assault team cover, while I bring around a bazooka team to blow em to bits :)

It's a FPS game.

It's been rated a 8.5 by Gamespot, but they graded Fallout 3 as the same score (horribly under graded ftw).  I've never played it, but judging from responses from a few friends, its a solid game.  I wish they'd pull away from WWII though, the horse has been dead for a few years now.

Soon you will be able to buy a GM product imported from China at a Wal Mart Super Center.

It's following a group of guys throughout the whole war I assume. Started at D-Day, went 9 days after D-Day up until the famous Battle of Hill 30. Then, the 2nd one, "Earned in Blood" was after that up until Market Garden. This one is mostly Market Garden.

Never heard of it, but there I don't have an XBOX, PS3, or Wii.  If its not on computer, and doesnt fall under FPS, Strategy, or Flight Sim I havent played it :P

It's on the PC, it's a combo of FPS and Strategy. You lead a squad of guys, and the only real way to win is to use tactics. You have lets say, an Assault team and a bazooka team. I have the Bazooka team suppress them, while I take the assault team to go kill them with me. If too many of them die, I fail the mission.

I got it for christmas. Absolutely love it. the slow-motion kills are insane.

Very good game, absolutely love the way you can get into cover realistically. Im not sure how to explain it unless you see it for yourself.  :P

Great game though absolutely recomend it.

Have you beaten it yet? I've gotten to about 3 or 4 points, where I think I've beaten it, then...... next level :lol

THe unfortunate thing is that the Nazis are the only policially correct thing to combat in historical FPS war games.  It is either Nazis or aliens.

Yea, they should have a Cambodian Killing Field's game in which you can play a 12 year old who gets to assist in clearing out cities and generally messing with civilians.

Anka  Anka

..or maybe Hotel Rwanda...where you can play a Hutu armed with a machete.

Fun for the whole family.

 :aok :rofl ;)

Well, there is a Russian made tank sim that lets you play the part of a 'volunteer' in a tank unit fighting on the Bosnian Serb side during the Bosnian War.  Heard it has a really good sniping level set in Sarajevo.

You're kidding me, right?  This is the kind of offensive garbage that needs to be modded.  I hereby vote for a one week time-out for smelly13.

WWII FPS are fun, so don't assume I dislike them, but they've grown stale over the last couple of years.  Yes, WWII is possibly the greatest war ever, but it doesn't mean we need 2-3 games about it every six months.

That's a bold statement to make on a WWII air combat game BBS.  I bet you've never even flown a cartoon airplane.
