Not for weak stomachs

I was looking for some movies with Stuka's in action and remembered...Enemy at the Gates. On the other hand, the link to the movie i'm posting is graphic. It shows how bad the Russian really had it. <S> to all those, including Germany, who fought in WWII.

Yeah that was a great movie. It had a couple of good flight scenes. Of course this one with the Stukas and the scenes of the German mediums carpet bombing the rubble. 111's right?

HE-111s or JU-88s....they were dropping fairly low. I'll have to look at it again to confirm. <S>

Like the movie? I think that was the lamest attempt at a "realistic" war movie I've ever seen. I had to force myself to sit through it.

There is a photograph in my copy of Anthony Beevor's Stalingrad that I am sure they used as a basis for the backdrop when they show the shot of Stalingrad from where the guys hesitated before jumping, or being pulled, off the train in the movie.

You know that a lot of Russian vets complained about this film... :noid  But from everything I've read there's more than a grain of truth to it.

They would have repeated WW1 if they hadn't used their biggest advantage: more of their own blood to spill than the enemy could afford.

Just... Not even sure what to say.

When retreating from an enemy, seeing your officers but a hundred yards away, your ticket to live t osee the next day...

To see those poeple you just risked your life for, firing on you...

Im not sure if i lived through that if i could handle it.


I also cant believe some of the tools who commented on that movie, the ignorance of some poeple.
