Ok... I observerd a new (at least for me it was new) technique last night.

Saw a Lancaser dive bomb a CV - killed it right off (no previous hits on the CV).

Pretty amazing...

Guess that's the new thing to do.

I've also observed that bombs can be released while inverted - they fall right through the fuselage.

Is this something that should be fixed?

I would plead that it should be fixed. Goodness knows this game doesn't need its own version of the Dancing/Dogfighting B-17 as it was in AW  :(

And speaking of "dancing" Lancasters...   The notion that a tail gunner can kick rudder pedals to initiate banked flight near 90° is bordering on the absurd.  Not just Lancasters but their pilots are the worst abusers of this feature.  The Lanc is fully capable of a split-S in AH.  While an actual aircraft may be capable of performing either of these maneuvers, a pilot that attempted such a feat would seriously jeopordize himself, his crew and airplane if attempted with a combat load.  And Nex, you are probably right...  if a Lanc was inverted, the 4000 pound bomb would likely fall through the upper structure of the airplane if it didn't manage to fuse itself and get hung up on the bits of remaining structure.

Well, all the buff model needs a closer look, IMO. It is not only the annoying facts you mention, Nexus. It is pretty much all about them. Just want to add these to yours/Mig points.
  • 30k+ pinpoint accuracy.
  • Blast radius seems to be way shorter than in real life.
  • Inst-o-matic/magic norden (talk about nav).
  • Maneouvrability at very high alts.
  • Perfect convergence of all weapons.
  • Weapons firing through fuselage, wings, etc.
  • GPS (talk about nav, part II).
  • 30k+ flights have no bad influence among crew members (penguins galore).
  • No engine management needed, throttle unnecesary.

Do I forget anything?

Cheers,

Pepe

You forget the "1 ping, pilot wound, collective black out" phenomenon, I hate it

Btw, I think bombers need to be more difficult (maybe not in defensive department, cause they fly alone).

But if you cut precision (and this is good), maybe is better to improve, enhance the blast radius (carpet bombing effective), for jabos too, at least against structures, if not against GVs.

Why would someone dive bomb a perfectly good lanc at ships. The plane is perfectly safe in the ship ack at 10k and can hit the ships with most every bomb. Let the dweeds dive bomb it...

6k to kill a cv, one ship length for every 10k alt, wiggle the lance at 15k and drop 2 salvos and kill the cv 95% of the time even if it zigzags.
