Temp should have attempted to fight, he didn't.  Ya, generally ramming is looked down upon, but there is a time and place for everything I guess.  That temp had no intention of fighting despite the fact shane had no ammo, despite the fact he is leaking oil, despite the fact niki in area, despite the fact shane gaining on him.  Actually, shanes risky attempt to ram is the only chance that the temp had of getting a kill on shane...he's actually giving him the temp a chance to "win" a fight.  If he had ammo left, outcome would have been the same anyway.

well review of the film shows the temp was leaking oil, had pilot wound and who knows maybe he was out of ammo also.

I think it was a pilot with VMF-124 during WWII who, out of ammunition or with all his guns jammed, flew up and chopped the tail off a Japanese plane with the propeller of his F4U. I remember reading a similar story by a pilot who flew at Guadalcanal chopping up the tail of a Japanese floatplane with his F4F's prop.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

he still should have turned to fight, unless he was just praying that someone would happen to fly over them and bail him out.  I prefer to attempt to do it myself.  Odds aren't good, but neither are the odds of flying straight with a dying engine, dying pilot, with an la7 gaining on your tail..... especially an la7 without ammo :)

Giving the context of this situation, I find this rather funny.
