When you get under 400 yards and the hi-rez shapes kick in, the potential warping you will see has nothing to do with your internet connection as it does the computer setup.

What typically is happening is your ram gets maxed out and it hits your computers swap file, thus causing the small warps.

The HTC servers are what...28.8?  33.6?  Dial up is just fine as long as it is stable.  If you are on a dial up connection and have set up/tweaked your modem correctly (proper modem string, etc) you can fly just fine and can be smooth as silk.  (and better than many high speed connections I might add)

Thats absolutely true when I was on dial up I didn't get a disco once and not even a hint of warping. On broadband I used too get discoed all the time, and the odd time I got a little warpiness on the broadband. Although it is also interesting too note my aim with a k4 30mm went too hell on my new broadband even though I didn't see any clear warps on screen, with the dial up I had got rather good at 1 shot crossing kills.

SOOOO.....

you hate someone because they have an internet connection problem?

what're ya 3 or something?

Yep, a very precocious 3 year old.  I have no problem with him having internet connection problems.  You miss the point fabulously.  The point is that he chooses to hinder other's game experience without regard.  Selfish if you ask me.  You ask a three year old and he would tell you that is selfish.  As a matter of fact - one just has...

nope........

if you in on him, and he warps, you have 2 choices. you can continue to fihgt against the warper(and then most probably come here and complain), or you can exit the fight, and go fight someone else.

sooo..in reality, it's you who've placed yourself in that position. it's you who's being selfish....you want that kill soo badly, that you're going to continue to fight the guy.
it's not his fault that he;s warping.....nor is it his fault that you choose to continue a course of action. the course of action you choose is on you, and you alone.

SRI Cappy....

Wrong! If I exit the fight....he is just gonna fly away and leave me alone? I don't have to worry about him rollin' in to cherry me some time later or trash my field and make it unusable? I don't think so. If he was that considerate, he wouldn't be playing anyway.

Bottomline...knowingly playing on a crappy connection is a selfish act. You are disregarding everyone else playing the game so that you can "get your fun".

AkAk...

Actually, he can control how he connects to the game. He can chose not to connect. Don't misunderstand. I've played with and against him. In RL, I'm sure he is a good enough guy. But, his continued playing on a bad connections is a major disruption for many of the people he plays against. In addition, all of the in arena whining when he is playing is......tiresome.

Being a 99% Midwar player, I certainly know who we talking about !

What I do when I meet him or any other warping player, I wright down a msg for him to read and I disengage. I let him know that I'm not interested in playing/fighting against him due to the bad "zipping" all over the skies....

I respect that its probably not his fault. Every time we crossed, he respected my msg and backed off....
I'm sure he sometimes gets frustrated when players are avoiding the fights !

I do understand where some players know about their problem and take advantage of it to gain the edge during gameplay :furious

Please Cap you making less sence then you normally do..... I have chose not to engage only to have him warp from 2 miles away to 400 behind me in 2 seconds, fair huh? Engaging on squad missions and subjecting us to his presence is selfesh on his behalf. Nobody said it's his fault but if you don't have the capability to perform to the standards of play should you be allowed to ?

well lets see.... if I continued to warp that evening I would have logged. If my ping is even in the 100's which it rarely is I don't even bother to play. Shuff please stay with the thread, were talking about someone who warps BAD all the time everytime. If it doesn't bother you then great it doesn't bother you but it does bother the majority of the people who posted in here. Or as long as your fine with it that should be the final word and our opinions aren't valid.
