I suggest that using the alt f4 results in bailout with chute automatically pulled.

Whats the reasoning for getting rid of it?

You get proximiety kill if someone alt-F4's if you're within a certain distance. It just takes awhile to appear on your text buffer.

I think there should be atleast like a 10 second delay before AH actually quits when you press Alt-F4. That would give a fair chance to get a proper kill.

Second Ripsnort, no reason to get rid of it since you get kill if you're close or if you have dammaged the person.

ok I musta been having a bad day then 3 b17`s that i wingripped did go away and no kill messag on two of them dunno what happend coulda been a bug.
so it do give a kill to the nearest enemy then ? i understand coulda been they went low and somone other got the kill then.

Yes Guard, just takes a while for the kill to appear in text buffer most of the time.
But I have also seen it resulting in nothing on occasions.

Question I have is this; If it results in a crash, and that ALT F4-ing con is at high alt and you are at high alt too, do you still get the prox kill? How is "crash" defined here, is it instand "in-the-air-crash" or does it relate to "crash-on-the-deck"? I.a.w. does the altitude have enything to do with getting the prox kill in these cases?

i just think you guys are confusing deliberate alt-f4 with simple disconnections (from a variety of causes) and ctd's (also from a variety of causes).

Here's the reason to get rid of it: If the other guy damages you bad enuf, and you die or have to bail some seconds after he is toast, or someone else kills you before he logs out, you do NOT get the kill. Alt-F4 is the guys last gasping pissonu move to rob you of the kill or get back at you for killing him. Sometimes it works. Further, if you don't realize he has logged, and you keep shooting at him, (and this works especially well in GV's) you waste ammo and likely get yourself killed by someone else. It needs to be disabled.
