2 2000 lb bomb loadout for p38... we have the bomb we have the plane why not?

the p-38 was the only one.

and dont we all want to see less chogs and more heavily loaded p38s in the virtual sky?

people take the f4u1c mostly to jabo because it has 2 1k bombs and turbolasers. sometimes they take the p47 for its 3 bombs and rockets and large 50 cal load.

why take the p38 for dedicated jabo missions when it carries less destruction than the p47 and f4u1c?

with the 2 2000lb bombs the p38s air to ground capability will be more in line with its historic counterparts and add diversity and new options to the U.S. jabo dweeb.

they can decide...

do I want the f4u1c/d's cannons/50cal, 1k bombs & 4/8 rockets?
do I wantthe p47d30's 4000 50cal, 2 1k bombs, 1 500lb bomb & 10 rockets

or do I want the p38's 4 50cal and  2 2000 lb bombs with no rockets for tank and hangar plinking.


the real plane was famous for this loadout...
it has been talked about by historians again and again how the twin engine lockheed could carry more bombs further than any other fighter bomber.

I'm only asking for the standard 2 2000lb bomb loadout to be added to the ah p38L.

I'm not asking for the common conversion that allowed the p38 to carry up to 6 500 lb bombs sheesh

umm the 190F8 could carry bombs up to 1,400 KG (BT1400) in centerline position.

Alliers have good enuff Jabo, we need some dedicated LW ground-attack/CAS aircraft.

Um. Nath, that's a red herring.  The 190 would require a new paint job (But hey, bring it on! It was my #1 choice in the poll).  That we need some cool LW Jabos has nothing to do with the fact that the P38 is missing a common loadout.
Somehow I suspect this won't go overlooked in the upcoming ordnance changes.

Yeah fix the 38 loadout but *for good heavens sake* give the LW a JABO!

VVS is lacking even more. With thenew damage model for buldings bomb load will be even more important.

With the endless spawning of osties, LW is *further* put at a disadvantage - I don't know how many times 9./JG54, having expended their bombs on osties after closing the v, have in frustration tried to take them out with 30mm's, been unsuccesful and had to rtb.

The allies have the Hisp monsters, t*they* if any side could do without a bird arrying one egg or less.

And the VVS, also a major player in the war (although not in AH) have no JABO capability at all.

PLEASE HTC *fix* this imbalance. It's causing some friction in LW only squads. We only have 1 VVS squad, and I imagine they fly other planes occasionally too; out of necessity.

B-26B had 2x2000lb bombs as well.

Ju 88A-4 could carry 1000kg bombs.

La-5FN could carry 2x100kg bombs or 6x82mm rockets. Probably Yak-9U could too.

Spitfire V had 2x250lb bombs.

   The N1K2-J we have in the game could Carry 4 250kg bombs or 4 60kg bombs and they don't seam to worked up over it either.

the p38 is severely outclassed by just about every fighter in ah after the 1.04 patch.

honestly if HTC believes the flight model is accurate on the p38 then a more fiersome air to ground loadout is the lightnings only justifiable reason anyone other than hardcore lightning fans would have for flying the p38.

sad but true.
