For the new guys

Just a bit of advice. Learn how to fly slow first. Most fights in here end up slower and lower. Master that fight first, then later learn some of the other high speed and roping stuff. If you learn to fly slow first, using flaps, and learning how to avoid people's fire, you will always have that to fall back on when you lose advantage and are down in the mud.

A good way to train is around a base full flaps and just ease the stick around on the edge of control. Practice nosing up, and sliding off to the side when you have absolutely no E. Its that type of thing that will decide the outcome of a low, slow fight against a guy in the same state as you.

Too many come in and right off the bat decide they want to fly a certain fast plane, but never learn how to fly it outside its preferred airspeed. Then the fight is over too quick for the opponent to have really enjoyed himself. And certainly too quick for the guy who died.

Even if you dont want to fly slow, atleast practice in your preferred plane, slow and desperate. It will only make you better. And...maybe the fights will improve for everyone.
