I decided to try and make a movie and remembered there was a site out there that had tutorials. I stopped by last night and it was working. Looked around found the things i wanted and more, then today it seems some guy named powercobra  screwed it all up.

Who was handling this site. Was it one of Wings of terror?

SCRIPT KIDDIES STRIKE AGAIN!

He's just a script kiddie that is from Turkey and part of a group that goes around and is able to exploit some security loophole that allows them to replace a home page with one they made.  They don't actually hack the site and mess around with the content, they don't have the knowledge or skill to do that.  They just use scripts.  This the same group of Turkish squeakers that hacked Hammer's Netaces.org site awhile ago.

Chances are, a kid didn't do it. Most people who do this sort of stuff for fun are suprisingly adults.

At least in this particular case with this group of Turkish hackers, they're teenagers.

I handle our site and about 200 others for clients.  The only site I have ever had hacked is the Squad site.  Like others posted here it was no big deal, all I had to do was replace the home page and it was repaired, but it sure is annoying as hell

So this is probably the last time I'm building a site with Joomla.  A couple of months ago our squad site was hacked and now my site.  I still have the movies, but it looks like I'll be rebuilding the site.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into this site and wanted to share it with my squad. I put the link up with information about it and was alerted to the problem after a few complained i was putting dead links up

These guys are probably the same way, which is why they need scripts to do what they do.  They aren't the authors of the scripts, probably some college kid or something they got from some hacker site.
