Spitfires and the British
« on: January 16, 2009, 08:58:08 AM »
I've been thinking alot lately about the over usage of the Spitfires and I think I've came up with a plan to fix that. Just allow only the Brits to fly them. I'm sure all of us has ran into one of the queens subjects in the heat of battle, and you must agree that they do need the convulsing, fish flopping, circus like manuever capibilities of the Spitfires in order to be victorious.

I for one have always held our friends across the pond with great respect, and by golly I'm willing to give them a leg up in this game so they won't have to die by the hands of a more "gifted" pilot. It's just not right that they have to fight against their own countries premiere WW2 fighter flown by really skilled pilots...I.E. the Americans.

So what do ya say my fellow yanks? Lets stay out of the Spitfires,Hurricanes and Tempests and let the needing British buggers fly them. Heck we don't need those planes. If we did we would of built them already.

On a side note: this doesn't apply to Lynx. I've heard him talk...I'm sure he's from Kentucky (the southern part)

Oooh, how's about this:

HiTech insert some coad to figure out what country in the world your IP address is coming from.  Then based on that, limit your plane choices to planes that your real-life country used in WW2.

I get your joke, uptown.   :aok

:huh  wtf is that supposed to mean uptown?  I don't know what your getting at but I for one and most of my squad would not need to resort to such stick stirring in order to own your pee fifty one.

If there were more runstangs that extend a sector before turning back in, I think i'd puke.    Anytime you want to fight p51 vs p51 gimme a shout and i'll give you some pointers.

Being the gentleman I am, I can not allow you to be at such a disadvantage. The P51 is a complicated, technical aircraft the should be flown with the utmost caution and skill, which the British just don't have at this point and time. But I will accept your challenge, my fine sir. But you have to allow me to fly a less capable aircraft. Say a C47?  :D

Of course the P-51 would have to be revised back to a P-51A....can't have a British designed engine flown by Americans, can we?  :devil

I fought you a few times.  I don't think the Spitfire is the reason you die  ;)

The 2x fuel burn already does a half-way decent job of keeping short-range interceptors in their place, so, no.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."
