Howdy all,
I’ve had this water fountain going in our garden for about 6 years. It’s made from an old hand pump and a half a whiskey barrel. It holds about 20 gallons of water that is re-circulated by an electric pump. My dog always drank from it. So do all the birds and squirrels in the area.
We keep it running during the winter by installing a birdbath heater. The heater keeps the water at 50 degrees.
Well this winter is putting the heater to the test. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but there is still a stream of water flowing inside of the ice that has formed.

I thought I would snap a couple of pictures before I refilled the fountain and busted up the ice… We can’t be having no thirsty wildlife around here!
