Pacific Air War (PAW) 1942 Gold circa 1994 win3.x had the ability for single player to fly a formation of 4 bombers to targets (Betty's, Dauntless', Avengers, and others)and could jump from 1 buff to another and its guns.
they kept formation fairly well ie: as 1 was damaged it would either drop back or fall, they would reform and manuvers would spred them as they tried to reform but too hard and they could collide with each other.
if the player controlled buff collided or was shot down (you could shoot the other buffs down or damage them if not carefull), it would place you in the next closest flying buff.
was also the first time i had ever heard of the Frank ki81
