For Drediolock, great 109F vs wounded Lanc fight
« on: January 18, 2009, 04:12:44 PM »
Don't see a lot of great intercepts of bombers these days.

This was an awesome joust.  Just as I was trying to land wounded Lancs at an airbase, this lone 109F dives down.

View film!

Ahh thank you.
Wish I had filmed on my end.
Aint easy bringing down 3 lancs in a 109F
Particularly when the lanc is shooting back LOL
Not a bad educational film either on how to best attack a formation of bombers while putting yourself at the least amount of risk.
Note the lack of a pure 12 or 6:00 approach.
That is done intentionally.

And the best way to bring down some of the better buff gunners/drivers
Its how I attack 999900000 when I know he's around

lmao I forget how many 9's and 0's I see in his handle.
And I never bothered to count.
All I know is its a pain in the butt to call him out on vox .hehe
He's well enough known that if I put it in that way everyone knows who I'm talking about.

You can take down bombers easy with 200 rounds and a hub gun. As long as you're not being bounced by escorts, it's pretty decent sport, IMO. However I don't like the 1-oclock or 2-oclock runs you made Dred, because you didn't get enough of a solid hit to do any damage. 12 runs later you wore him down and saddled up at 200 yards, but I like to put 'em out of their misery faster  :aok

The irony is, and Im not sure you see it in the film, early on I lost the tail gun and top turrent.  Had he opted to do a dead 6 approach, all I could do is jink...and die sooner.

I really enjoyed that joust.  A lot more sporting that the Hurricaine with bazookas at point blank range  :)

I do miss the days when B-24s outnumbered all other planes in my kill list (including La7s and spits combined) and I do enjoy the few times I've run across your bombers 999000, not because I get easy kills but because you force me to do it the right way.

You could say you're like the nun with a ruler, smacking my knuckles smartly (with 50cal fire) when I give the wrong answer!

I prefer the 10:00 and 2:00 approach especially in a 109 because if I try to get even close to saddling up on one of those deathstar formations with the laser beams. I die. LMAO
