I was flying around yesterday and saw an enemy F4U and was horrified, just horrified, to see the Icon which read "F4U4".  :(

What the hell is that?????????????  :mad:

What purpose on god's green earth does it serve to tell every Tom Dick and Harry in the sky that you are in a 60 perk point F4U-4??? I mean give me a break! If they can't  :mad:

Why don't you guys just put an icon on all perk planes that says "come on, pile on and kill me with 10-1 odds!    :mad:

It puts it on the same level as the Me262A-1, Tempest MkV, Ar234 and Ta152H-1.  It lets every Tom, Dick and Harry know that he is up against a superior aircraft and it lets the perk plane hunters know who to go after.

The Perk plane hunters are the biggest reason that I don't like flying perk planes.  I don't find it fun to take an aircraft that is marginally better (that doesn't apply to the Me262) that the top end freebies and become the hunted one.  Its not fun.

Well, icons can say: 190 for Ta, Typh for tempest and F4U for F4U-4. IMO, icon should name the plane that can be distinguished by from a distance.

Different paintjobs will tell the submodel when closer.

Off course 262 as 109 would look rather silly  :)

It IS like that Allready! TA152, Temp, 262, 234 etc, why shouldn't F4u have it like F4U-4, jus becasue there are other F4u's in the game?

Hell, I don't understand the need to perk a plane with only 6x .50 cal guns anyhow!

I mean, lets get real! The F4U-4 can't hang with the P51D or P51B, La7, La5 or Yaks!

And yet it has a cost that is greater then it's dominating brother the -C?

Frankly I don't see the need for Perks at all.
Is this a "Simulation" of realism, or an attempt to make all ww2 fighters equal?
Simulating the quantity built factor should be done by effecting limits on how many are flyable from which base. Not by preventing low scoring pilots from being able to fly them!

I feel sorry for the poor chap who only gets 1 day a week to fly and has to do so under crappy ISP/Server conditions.

All I could think about was the nightmares that still must re-occur for Pyro from the -4 debut days of Warbirds.  :) (That, of course, had 4X20mm, not the 6X.50's)

The F4U4 is just like every other plane!!! All the perk planes have their icons, so does the F4U4!

I cant belive you guys whine about this, ir eally cant belive it......

I dare say the 262 and ta152 have "unique" siloette's which make them easily identifiable. F4U-4 looks almost idential to any other F4U-1.

Don't know y we have plane type icons anyway. lets people pick and choose who they gona fight from 6000 yards away? silly...

It should be just like the Spitfires or the 190s.  You have no idea if its a Spit5 or a Spit9, or, converesely, a 190A8 of a 190F8.

How about a step further, no icons whatsoever, you have to identify the nose art, then check your chart to see who's nose art that is, then check to see what country that squad is flying for, then, and only then, can you engage?  ;)

How about we ONLY TURN OFF ENEMY ICONS.

If you do not see an Icon, You know its an enemy.... Take whatever Action you need to do from that point on to not die.

Nuff said.

This may sound a tad stupid, but I'm NEW (duh)
Why are any aircraft perked anyways? I mean, just cause a fellow isnt a good pilot without a good killscore, he cant fly a perkie? I say if hes a bad pilot hell get killed in any plane (EVEN THE 262)  :eek: .
So y the perks? Its no good letting someguy know that Im flying a perkie (Me262, Ta-152, Tempie etc.)  so Im an ace?
I think it ruins the fun. Even no good pilots should be allowed to have fun even in those planes.

Hammerhead, think for a moment... would you like to see very few prop planes and the majority of the aircraft u see jets?

Perks permit planes that would otherwise unbalance the arena be introduced.
