If it wasn't for the...shall we say... idiots of the game, it'd be 100%. As it is, I give it a 90% approval rating!

As a real pilot, I find things like ho-ing, bomb-and-bails, or ditching to run somewhere else on the map, annoying as hell. What I think bothers me most is that staying alive isn't a priority. (I should clarify by saying that a head-to-head frontal attack is different than a 'I get to ram a perk plane' maneuver.)

You lose sight of that once in the cockpit of a real aircraft, and you're most likely dead, permanently. Its too easy to simply respawn in a perfectly new airplane. If dying 'in game' actually meant something, either points or time, players would fly smarter and hopefully lose that mindless banzai-charge mentality.

Why I'm starting to (somewhat) agree with the old salts:

Y'all know I'm not one to try to put DA rules on a multi-bandit situation. I'm not going to tell anyone they have to fight low in the weeds all the time, or never extend in any situation, never call for a clear or clear a six, or never double attack a bandit with a wingman.

BUT, when in a nights farting around the various arenas, you pick up bandits on your long six, you turn back to engage an airplane which has rough parity with yours across the envelope plus some E on you, and they literally turn around and run, they don't try to turn fight, they don't try to E fight, they don't even try to HO, they turn tail the instant its apparent you are coming back towards them with bad intent, and this happens not once but three times in an evening, I say TARFU!  :huh

Some decent guys are not enjoying the game because sometimes it seems there is almost 0 detectable interest in air combat. I think they are wrong to call the glass completely empty when its half-full, but they have a point.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

Well, after 2yrs plus, the game has definately lost some of its shine
for me.. It relieves occasional boredom, but thats about it now..
Was just on, got some kills, got killed some too.. Same'O Same'O..
Just can't find the enthusiasm that I used to have for it... I took
last tour off, now I'm back online again... Hmmm, no change in
anything that really matters.. Same old stuff, new tour...

Its still worth the 15 bucks so far, but it needs some new evolutions
to avoid getting stale... Just a new plane or tank/gv won't do..
I'd be willing to pay MORE, for a premium version, (more sim, less game)

Just being honest!

I love this game. But I find myself bored half the time. I spend most of my nights in the DA fighting agaisnt the hordes there with some 1v1sa and 2v2s with the squad. the MA just doesnt do much for me any more, thank God I got into the FSOs now, I live for friday nights worth the $15 right there. Wish the AvA would get popular enough later in the evening, Id spend 99% of my time in there.

I enjoy this game just the way it is!

Despite the fact that these boards are infested by the "usual suspects" who are constantly telling everyone why they shouldn't.

I like the game  :aok , sure I wish I was alot better than I am  :(, Sure I wish I could find more good 1v1 in the air, sure I would rather come upon more clean first merges, rather than taking a canopy full of lead. But when you do find that good 1v1 its great, even though I lose all of them, its still a great rush.

I've been around almost a year now, sadly I'm a slow learner, but I still come back ( way too much lately  :D ) and log on. Looking for a good air or gv battle, I don't say alot but I do listen, and try to take it all in. I try to learn from what I see others do, and what I do, ( or don't ) and move forward from there.

I really like and respect most all the folks I fly and gv with, and also those who are on the other side  :salute. I know I'm one of the odd ones out here ( so to say ) but for all the faults people can come up with about the game I still try and look for the positives. And yes I agree that even in my short time I have seen a change in game play, attitudes, and tactics. Not all of it bad, but by no means is it all good.

Hey I enjoy the game. :D

Some nights though it seems like there are no fights to be found. Either side has superior numbers and its just a high alt picking gang fest. Tonight I couln't find a single fight, I was dodging P51's, 190's, typhs, and even the spits and 109's didn't want to stay and turn a bit. Basically spent the whole night dodging high alt late war planes zooming by at 450mph over and over. :frown:

Even upped at empty base and flew over to another empty base, soon I had 2 spits and a LA fighting me like I'll end the world if I'm alive much longer.  :huh
