I never had any problems with the MTW disc...do you have another drive or comp you can use to test it?

Did you remember to put it in your DVD-ROM drive, not the CD-ROM drive?

That's what I was going to ask. It's probably a DVD-rom and not a CD-rom.

I have a dvd drive, however i believe its damaged.  I had many viruses on my computer and it took me almost 6 months to get it back up and running.  But the DVD-rom isnt working.  Does anyone have any ideas on how i may be able to get it fixed??

I know its a dvd drive because i used to watch dvds on it! lol

It needs to be a DVD-ROM, not just a DVD player. Theres a difference.

Most games that come out now are DVD-ROM format, not CD-ROM. They play faster and hold much more information.

Yes that drive should work. HOWEVER if the drive will not read this disc try another DVD and see if it reads that one. If not then return the MTW2 disc and start over. If the other does read then go to nearest computer shop/retail store that sells internal drives and buy one for anywhere from $20-$50 dollars for a patch up DVD drive.

well since it failed AFTER you got all the viruses it "might" be possible to reinstall the DVD-Rom.
Did you buy this pc with all the drives ect built in? OR did you piece it together?
The reason I ask is if your going to reinstall the DVD-Rom you will need to reinstall the drivers and software for it.
If you dont have the installation discs then you "might" find them on the net.
As mentioned already you will probably be better off just buying a new one. All depends on how comfortable you are manualy installing hardware and software
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!

No i got it as is from Aaron's rental.  So if i found the installation disc, it might fix it for me?  Or would it just be easier to buy a new one.  Ive installed graphics cards before on my other computers.  So im not too concerned about something like this if i need to replace it.

And crazy, yes it is a Dell....piece of crap! lol
