The new Saitek stick, Cyborg X. Video review (in chinese)
« on: January 28, 2009, 11:57:23 AM »
Can't understand a damn word but it looks cool, I like the customizability. Haven't found any reviews besides a couple on amazon.com

The twin throttle looks very smart. All the button placement is good.
Hopefully it won't be another one which uncalibrates itself and is possessed by saitekdemons..

Well, I have one and I am very satisfied with it.

- Ergonomics are great, you can adjust just about everything for maximum comfort.
- All buttons are easily reachable, but for that very reason this stick is not as suitable for lefthanders as the previous Cyborgs.
- The dual throttles are great and much better positioned as on the Aviator.
- The scrolll wheel is a very good solution for either flap or trim control.
- The potentiometers have a high resolution and they do not spike (yet). Ok I know thats not a great feat after a couple of days use, but I had joysticks that did spike right out of the box (TM Flightstick X, and some Logitech stick)
- It keeps its calibration (that being said, I used various Saitek sticks in the last 8 years, and none of them lost its calibration ever).
- It has a rather wide and thus stable base, so despite its low weight, it stands firm on the table.

In my opinion so far,  its the best stick in its price range.

for $50 it is almost disposable - you could get a new one each year for 5 years and not cover the cost of one CH combo

Very interesting concept.

One disappointment (for me) was when I first saw the removable handle, I thought that meant you could turn it around making it suitable for a left hander.  Apparently not.  Too bad, that would have been so easy for them to do.

Very good looking stick however.   :aok

I don't need any more sticks that is why I suggested you spend your money and try it out.

Im making a thread about a new stick by the most popular company (most pepole have x52s here). Also im linking to a video showing something quite new, a lot of customizability. It's not very often new sticks come aronud. I also wanted to find out if someone here has it so that htey can give some feedback. If I had 50 dollars to throw down the well then I'd just be buying a ch setup.

Uncalibrating X52 with a super spiking rudder and a lil bit on the y axis.

Ahh, ok. If you check out the Cyborg X, you will probably find the spring tension on the stick quite firm, at least compared to the X52, which has a very, very light spring tension. Other than that, if you can live with fewer buttos and fewer analoge axis(es?), I think it will be worth a try.
